Dreame arrived at IFA 2026 with a bang. The company took home two IFA Innovation Awards thanks to the Aqua20 Pro Ultra Roller X Complete , awarded in the Smart Home category, and the X60 Pro Ultra Complete , recognized in the Home Appliances category. Beyond the award (which always looks good on the box), the interesting thing is that both models tackle two of the problems that even the most expensive robot vacuums still struggle with: actually mopping tough stains and reaching those corners where we usually end up mopping ourselves.
The most striking is probably the Aqua20 Pro Ultra Roller X Complete , Dreame's new flagship roller mop. Its major innovation lies in using 180°C steam before mopping with hot water to soften dried-on dirt and particularly stubborn stains. This is combined with 18 N of pressure on the floor and a roller capable of rotating at 300 RPM. Dreame claims a 99,999% bacteria elimination rate, although, as always with these kinds of laboratory figures, we'll have to see how this translates to a real-world home. It also improves on something much easier to notice: the mop can extend up to eight centimeters to get closer to walls and furniture. The X60 Pro Ultra Complete , meanwhile, focuses on mobility. It features a new double-jointed robotic arm that allows the circular mop to extend up to 18 centimeters and the side brush another 12 centimeters. This solution is designed for cleaning around chair legs, baseboards, or narrow spaces—precisely where these devices often leave small areas untouched.
These awards also come at a time when Dreame is trying to make it clear that it no longer wants to compete solely on suction power. The evolution of robot vacuums is now focused on details such as the ability to reach edges, handle different types of flooring, and make mopping feel more like a real cleaning than just wiping with a damp cloth. And in this regard, features like the Aqua20's steam function or the X60's extendable arms are far more compelling than another increase of several thousand pascals on paper. IFA 2026 thus serves to confirm a clear trend: the high-end range of robot vacuums is rapidly becoming more sophisticated , although it will be the price (and the results in everyday use) that determines whether these innovations end up being truly useful or simply another technological showcase.
