Fujifilm celebrates 40 years of QuickSnap with two new single-use cameras

Last update: July 3, 2026

Fujifilm is celebrating the 40th anniversary of QuickSnap, its iconic single-use camera, with the launch of two new models that expand the possibilities of analog photography: QuickSnap Active and QuickSnap Black and White. Both will be available from September 2026 and arrive at a particularly interesting time, as younger generations are rediscovering the charm of film, the wait, and screenless photography.

QuickSnap was born in July 1986 with a very simple idea: to allow anyone to easily take photos anytime, anywhere. Four decades later, the concept still makes sense, albeit for somewhat different reasons. Originally, it facilitated access to everyday photography. Today, in the smartphone era, it offers the exact opposite of digital immediacy: a more leisurely, physical experience with a touch of surprise.

Fujifilm's single-use camera has sold over 1.700 billion units worldwide, a figure that speaks to its cultural impact. Its success isn't solely due to convenience, but also to the blend of simplicity and excitement that comes with shooting without immediately reviewing the image. You take the picture, continue experiencing the moment, and wait for the film to be developed to discover the result.

The new QuickSnap Active is designed for adventures, travel, and outdoor scenes. It features a rugged housing and allows you to take photos underwater up to 10 meters deep. It can be used at the beach, pool, on hikes, camping trips, or even in rainy and dusty conditions. It also includes a larger film advance wheel and a lever-type shutter release for easier use with gloves or underwater. Its recommended retail price will be €25,99.

The QuickSnap Black and White, on the other hand, offers a more artistic and nostalgic experience. It comes loaded with ISO 400 black and white film, includes a built-in flash with a range of 3 meters, and allows you to capture portraits, urban scenes, or everyday moments with a more graphic and timeless style. Its recommended retail price will be €23,99.

Fujifilm will also launch a new QuickSnap wrist strap for €12,99 and a special commemorative 40th-anniversary logo. More than a return to the past, this expansion of the range confirms that analog photography still has a place: not to compete with mobile phones, but to offer a different, slower, and more mindful way of preserving memories.
