Japanese Akira Yamaoka will attend this year's Barcelona Games World

Surely now you are beginning to remember those mythical soundtracks but that is not all and Akira Yamaoka is also the author of the soundtracks of the different titles of the series of silenthill, He is also in charge of the film adaptations of this game, Silent Hill (2006) and Silent Hill: Revelation (2012).

Yamaoka has worked on about 50 video games

The curriculum of this Japanese is one of the important ones and it is that Yamaoka has left his mark on about 50 video games. During his visit to the show that this year is delayed in dates, Akira Yamaoka will receive the special award for professional career, an award that has been received by figures such as Katsuhiro Harada (Tekken), Hajime Tabata (Final Fantasy XV), T? Ru Iwatani, father of the mythical Pac-Man, Kazunori Yamauchi (Gran Turismo) and Masaya Nakamura, founder of Bandai-Namco posthumously. Further, Yamaoka will participate in different activities aimed at the attending public including a presentation on the importance of soundtracks in video games and their impact on pop culture and a meeting with fans and followers.

Yamaoka studied product and interior design at Tokyo Art College as he originally planned to be a designer. In 1993 he joined Konami to work on games such as Contra: Hard Corps, Sparkster and Sparkster: Rocket Knight Adventures 2, among others. When Konami started looking for a musician to compose the score for Silent Hill, Yamaoka volunteered. because he thought he was the only one capable of making the soundtrack. Although he was initially hired as a composer, he soon became involved in general sound design.

In 2010, Yamaoka joined the Grasshopper Manufacture where he has served as a composer, head of sound and also as a game producer. Yamaoka also made the leap into the film industry on the occasion of the silver screen adaptations of Silent Hill - Silent Hill (2006) and Silent Hill: Revelation (2012). Among his main musical influences, the Japanese composer quotes Trent Reznor, Angelo Badalamenti, Metallica and Depeche Mode.

For this year 2018, The BGW will be held from November 29 to December 2, 2018 and will be moved to Hall 2 of the Gran Via venue in the Catalan capital.
