Microsoft brings Cortana to the lock screen of any Android

Microsoft is working on putting Cortana fully on Android, and that of the Redmond boys is undoubtedly one of the best virtual assistants that we can find in the market. It is surprising that this is so when Google has a very interesting database and on the other hand we have Siri, which is the veteran in the sector but has nevertheless become totally outdated. Definitely, the latest move by Microsoft to popularize Cortana on Android devices is to bring it directly to the lock screen for ease of use to the maximum.

A shortcut is what we will have added to our lock screen thanks to Cortana for Android. All you need is to swipe in the right direction, just as we use a gesture to unlock the device and another to launch, for example, the camera. Of course, this function is still in beta, and of course it will never reach iOS, since it is impossible to modify the iOS lock screen. What if they could add for the Apple operating system is an editable Widget on the lock screen, which would make a lot of sense, as Shazam has for example.

Once Cortana is installed on Android, it will ask us if we want to activate the function "Cortana on the lock screen", we will not have to do anything else if we want it to work, the Cortana logo will appear on the panel, in the same way that the others appear, without assuming a radical change in utility or design.

As we have said, it is important that Microsoft thus promotes its virtual assistant in an operating system that allows such liberalities as Android, especially now that Windows 10 Mobile is in the doldrums and on the countdown to his disappearance.
