The Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro will add facial unlocking

Huawei continues to bring the best of technology to its devices and in this case we have the arrival of an update for the Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro in which it will be implemented. facial unlocking.

This new software update on the Huawei Mate 10 Series will remotely incorporate facial recognition technology in the two devices. This software was initially created for the P20 Family but is now available both in the Huawei Mate 10 as in the Mate 10 Pro.

Face unlock adds to fingerprint sensor and password

Obviously this is an update to improve the unlocking system and therefore the fingerprint sensor and the password will continue to be fully accessible on these Huawei P10 and P10 Pro. Huawei's facial recognition system quickly captures the face, providing a better user experience when unlocking the device.

This unlocking mode has a live 2D detection capability to ensure that it cannot be unlocked by photos or by a screen as we have seen in the first sensors incorporated in some companies outside of Apple. The new update will arrive via OTA and is already available for free devices, the rest of the devices obtained through the operator will take a little longer to receive the update, but all will eventually be updated.

Using the face sensor on the Huawei P10 and P10 Pro

The mode of use is really simple and after updating the device's software, we will have the option to activate the face unlock in the submenu that you will find under the name of "Security and Privacy". The first time we access, we will be asked to take a photo to create the facial profile. Once the process is complete, we will be able to choose between two forms of facial unlocking: "Direct Unlock" and "Slide to Unlock". The first will unlock the mobile screen automatically when the screen is turned on, recognizing the user's face, and the second will ask users to perform a swipe gesture once the face is recognized.
