IFA 2019 begins with Acer as the main protagonist. The company has just finished its press conference in which they have left us with a multitude of news. Among the products they have left us is their new range of Chromebook laptops. They leave us a total of four models in it (315, 314, 311 and Spin 311).
These are four ideal laptops for students, designed to give the best performance at all times. Modern design, good features and a great value for money are the keys to this Acer Chromebook range. So they have everything to be one of the most popular in this segment.
The range can be divided into two groups, with two models that are a step above in terms of size and performance. While we have two other models of smaller size, but that maintain very complete features for students especially. This is the brand's new Chromebook range.

Chromebook 315 and Chromebook 314: The flagship models
The first are the two models with a larger size. These are the Chromebook 315 and Chromebook 314, which are the largest and most powerful in it. Perfect for working and giving us a good performance, although also ideal when viewing multimedia content, thanks to their large and quality screens. So they stand out within the range.
The Chromebook 315 has a 15,6-inch screen, while the Chromebook 314 has a 14-inch screen. In both cases they have a Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 p) with IPSii technology and wide viewing angles. The Chromebook 315 also includes a dedicated numeric keypad, making it a great device for users and small business owners.
Acer offers in the case of the Chromebook 315 the option of integrate an Intel Pentium Silver N5000 processor. The entire range makes use of Intel Celeron N4000 dual-core or N4100 quad-core as processors, but in this model there is an additional option. In terms of RAM and storage, the 315 has up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of eMMC storage. In the case of the 314 it stays at 8 GB and 64 GB, respectively. The two laptops offer 12,5 hours of autonomy.
Acer Chromebook Spin 311 and Chromebook 311: The Small Models
The range of these Chromebooks is completed by these two laptops, which are the smallest in terms of size. The brand leaves us with the Chromebook Spin 311 and 311, two very light and ideal models to carry on a day-to-day basis at all times. Both They have 11,6-inch screens. The Acer Chromebook Spin 311 (CP311-2H) has a 360-degree convertible design, so its 11,6-inch HD touchscreen can be used in four different modes: tablet, laptop, display, and tent.
The second model in this range is the Chromebook 311, which has the same 11,6-inch screen size. In its case, it has a traditional laptop design, and it is very light, weighing just over 1 kg. So it is easy to transport at all times. This laptop comes in both touchscreen and non-touchscreen versions. The two laptops give us up to 10 hours of autonomy.
Acer offers us up to 8 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage on the Chromebook Spin 311. While on the Chromebook 311 you can choose up to 4GB and 64GB, respectively. The Intel Celeron N4000 dual-core or N4100 quad-core are used as processors in this case. In terms of connectivity, they all have two USB 3.1 Type-C Gen 1 ports and have a front HD camera for video calls.
Price and launch
Acer has confirmed that the Chromebook range will go on sale this fall, throughout the month of October. Although the dates may be different depending on the market in question, we can expect them this month. The company has also shared the prices of each of these laptops:
- The Chromebook 315 will be available from October with a price of 329 euros.
- Chromebook 314 will be launched in October at a price of 299 euros.
- Chromebook Spin 311 will be available from October at a price of 329 euros.
- The Acer Chromebook 311 will be available from October for a price of 249 euros.
