Firefox enables tracking protection by default in its latest version for iOS

The Mozilla foundation, behind which we can find the Firefox browser, has always shown a special commitment to user privacy. A few days ago, he launched a new Firefox extension for desktop in which when accessing Facebook, opened a special tab, completely independent of the browser so that the social network cannot track our activity.

It seems that the movements to try to improve the privacy of the users, not only with Facebook, but also in general, do not stop there, since the foundation has released a new update of Firefox for iOS in which it activates by default the protection against tracking, a protection that should be enabled by default in all browsers. At the moment, Safari for iOS and macOS is the other browser that does it too.

After the new update, Firefox will inform us, by holding down on the address bar, if the web page we are visiting has any tracking mechanism. Trackers are not only oriented to show advertising, although in the majority, they are also in charge of managing the statistics of visits to the web pages we visit as well as the number of integrated social networks.

As signed by the Mozilla Foundation, the system used is the same one currently offered through the Firefox Focus browser, a browser for mobile devices that is responsible for blocking any type of tracking every time we visit a web page. In addition, it does not store any data about the web pages that we visit, which makes it an ideal tool for when we want to visit a web page without leaving any traces, something that does not really happen when we use the Incognito browsing that all of us offer. browsers.

If after the Facebook scandal with Cambridge Analytica, your concern for your privacy has increased, it may be time to start using Firefox as the default browser on your iOS device and computer. At the moment, the Android version, although it offers us the option to activate the function that prevents tracking, it is not activated by default.
