Lately we like to focus on what the development of the smart home involves, a way to save and above all to make our lives easier. Today we have here a product in line with the dates that will help us keep our home fresh and healthy. We show you Ambi Climate 2, a device with Artificial Intelligence that makes your air conditioning smart. Let's take a much closer look at this product and find out if it is actually capable of delivering what it promises in daily use, especially now that we are in full swing. "Veroño", and it is that the heat does not want to go although it is already its turn.
This is the second version of a product that was released a while ago and now includes a slight redesign and fully integrated Artificial Intelligence. Let's take a good look at all its characteristics to determine whether or not we are facing a good purchase. You can take a look at this link.

Design and materials: It will go unnoticed in your home
This Ambi Climate 2 is made of white plastic while it has a light-colored wooden base, very Nordic style so present today in many homes. The device measures approximately 10,8 x 4,2 x 8,1 centimeters and has such a small weight that it is not worth mentioning, you will not have problems with it. In addition, the base has a non-slip material that will mean that you do not have to worry at all about what may happen at the level of falls, yes, the device does not seem too resistant to this type of stakes.
On topOn both sides we will find a jetblack plastic coating that hides both the sensors and the infrared emitter in charge, among other things, of impersonating the official air conditioning control and thus making the necessary changes. From the rear we have both the microUSB input in charge of providing power to the device as well as a USB connection and "Reset" in case we had to factory reset the device. Of course, this Ambi Climate 2 seems to be able to be fully integrated into the design of any room, it will go unnoticed even despite the LED that is located on the front and whose brightness we will be able to adjust through the application of which we will talk in later lines.
Sensors and home automation capabilities: Compatible with Alexa
In the first place this second edition of Ambi Climate has temperature and ambient light sensors in the upper part, whose data obtained will be analyzed by Artificial Intelligence to manage the operation of the air conditioner. So far everything is clear, we understand that a product like this must have a good set of hardware to be able to offer us all the characteristics that they promise us in the package, but now we are going to talk about what for me is one of the most relevant points of the same, compatibility with smart home management systems.
While it makes no mention of integration with HomeKit (discarded) or Google Home, it is fully compatible with Alexa, Amazon's virtual assistant. Although Alexa is not yet available in Spanish, it will be soon, so we can tell our virtual assistant, for example, to turn on the air conditioning and keep it at 24ºC. I already have an Amazon Echo so the first tests with Alexa have been totally satisfactory. In the same way Ambi Climate 2 is able to work through IFTTT and its workflows, although this option becomes much more complicated for the habitual home user.
User experience and functionalities
We start at the beginning, configuring This Ambi Climate 2 has been surprisingly fast, we have downloaded its application and linked the device to our WiFi network so that it would allow us to access the data from it. Immediately after entering the brand of our air conditioner, it has been automatically adjusted to simulate the orders that the remote control would issue and thus in just five minutes after connecting it to the power we had the device working and issuing information about the room in which it is located , such as humidity and temperature. But ... what can we do with this device so that we really save money?

- Timer and programming: This is nothing more than the functionalities that any controller includes natively, however, the application and its minimalist user interface will make it quick and painless to take advantage of this ability.
- Usage information: We will be able to analyze with data when is our usual use of air conditioning as well as our habits, so we can adjust the rate and electricity consumption to adjust it and end up saving.
- Maintaining temperature: We already know that the temperature indicator on the remote is usually not very effective, so the Ambi Climate 2 has constantly adjusted the air conditioning temperature to keep my living room at 25º during testing days, without having to do or say anything No more "getting cold" while using the air conditioning, this is especially useful for sleeping or when there are little ones at home.
- Multi-user geolocation: It will keep us located through geofences to intelligently program the device on and off.
Editor's opinion
Cons
- No internal battery
- Instructions are missed
Worst of this device is that it does not include an integrated battery, taking into account the low battery consumption that it seems to offer, it does not seem necessary to keep it connected to the network continuously. However, it is capable of working on a power-bank. I think that at least as an alternative to the user it would have been a good idea to give this option. On the other hand, although the interface is intuitive and easy to use, a small tour or a broader introduction would not hurt.
Pros
- Design
- Easy to use
- App capabilities
Best without a doubt it is the capacity of its sensors and the possibility that once configured correctly it allows us to completely forget about a device as detestable as the air conditioning control. It is clear that it is not an essential device, but it is very important to consider if our home has intelligent management of the devices from 129 euros on Amazon.
