Android 8.1 will reduce the space occupied by inactive applications

As the available space on our device expands, either because we have changed terminals or because we have bought a new memory card, the digital Diogenes syndrome that we all have inside is exacerbated. Most of us, I admit that I include myself, download many applications per day to test whether or not it adapts to our needs or just with the intention of testing it.

In most cases these applications remain living in our terminal until our device shows us the happy message that there is not enough space, which forces us to start deleting those applications that we have barely used, in addition to downloading photos and videos to the computer.

With the arrival of Android 8.1, Google has been working on a method for all those users affected by the digital Diogenes syndrome to have it easier, since the system will detect which applications we have not used for a while and will compress them on our device to what are still available but taking up much less space.

In this way, if we want to reuse a game or application that we had forgotten in our terminal, we can do it again without having to reinstall it. Of course, at the beginning the execution of the game will take a little longer than normal since it will have to be decompressed. This is a half solution, since for large games that occupy 1 GB or more this compression system may not be the most correct option.

iOS 11, the latest version of Apple's operating system for mobile devices, offers us a similar function, which we can activate or deactivate to our liking, and that is responsible for deleting the application or game that has not been running for a while in our terminal, keeping all the data or documents that we have stored in it.
