Apple's app store starts cleaning

Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC),

It has been a long time since the Google application store outnumbered the Apple App Store, but while in the Google Play Store we can find a large number of applications, which in many cases leave something to be desired, the App Store is also plagued with them but Apple announced a few months ago that I would clean up and start deleting apps that haven't been updated for a while and whose compatibility with the new iPhone models has not yet been adapted. All developers who have an application of this type have received an email where they are urged to update them if they do not want their application to be deleted.

But it is not the only change that Apple wants to implement in the App Store, since it will also modify the maximum length of the titles of the applications. Apple wants to do away with descriptive titles of applications. But if Apple wants the App Store to keep running should improve the search algorithm so that we can find apps based on function, not title.

In the email sent to the developers we can read:

Dear developer,

On September 1, 2016, we announced that we were going to implement an evaluation and removal process for apps that do not work as they should, do not follow review policies or are outdated.

We have detected that your app has not been updated in a long period of time.

Next steps

To keep the app on the App Store, please release a new version for review that meets the requirements in 30 days. If you are unable to release an update within 30 days, your application will be removed from the App Store until you submit an update and it is reviewed.

If we delete your App

It will remain fully functional for users who already have it. They will not suffer an interruption in their services, the in-app purchases will continue to work and they will be able to download it again in case of having to restore. However, we recommend that you update the app as soon as possible to relaunch it on the App Store to ensure that it remains functional for new users.

You can continue to use the name of your app, as it has not been deleted from your account.
