Apple is not known for informing about the purchases of companies that it makes every year, and that there are a large number, it only confirms its acquisition without explaining the reasons that have led to it. The problem is that the media began to speculate on what may be the possible purpose of this purchase, an end that sometimes leaves Apple in a bad place.
The last company that can become part of Apple is Shazam, the application with which we can know at all times what is the song that sounds around us and that has become a must have for many users.
As I mentioned above, it is the turn of speculation about the possible interest that Apple may have in Shazam. Currently, the iOS personal assistant, Siri, is capable of recognizing Shazam-style songs, but the process takes a long time in addition to having to request it verbally, instead of being able to do it by pressing on the screen, a much faster and more agile process. Also, when we get it to start listening, it either takes a long time to recognize the song or it doesn't do it correctly.
Everything indicates that Apple could try to improve the song recognition system that Siri currently offers and incidentally, every time it shows the results of the song, prioritize playback options via Apple Music, Apple's music service, instead of Spotify or other services as is the case today.
But it is also likely that Apple wants to acquire Artificial Intelligence capable of carrying out this process in the application, a system that has been in operation for many years and is used by millions of people every day. Hopefully, if the news is finally confirmed, Apple does not withdraw the application from the market and continues to be available also for Android and that in turn continues to be updated, because if we look back, we can see how other applications that Apple has bought, have stopped receiving updates.
While is true that Shazam is not the only application that allows us to recognize music of our environment, if it has become the most used due to the accuracy of the terms it offers us together with its speed.
