Reolink is a veteran firm in this of home security, they have launched a good battle of video surveillance products and much more over the years. What you may not have considered was the possibility that these products were totally wireless… security without cables? Technology does not stop evolving.
We are going to check what is the performance offered by this new camera, as well as what are its strengths, and of course the weaknesses, stay in our analysis today to check the performance of this camera.
Design and materials: Less is always more
Reolink has almost always been characterized in its products by including fairly minimalist materials and designs. It is something that from our point of view is quite relevant if we take into account that we are facing security cameras, the fact that these cameras go unnoticed both at the design level at home, and to avoid the feeling of being always watched should prevail . As we have said, we find a pill-shaped camera, quite compressed and without right angles, diaphanous and easy to locate. You can check it out on Amazon.
- Dimensions: 96 x 58 x 59 mm (3.8 x 2.3 x 2.3 in)
- Weight:
On the front we have both the lens and a small motion sensor that will undoubtedly help its operation. On the other hand we have a small rubber on one side that we can take off as many times as we want to insert a Micro SD card as well as the reset button of the camera. In turn, the camera has an addition in the package, a silicone case that will make the camera cope much better in inclement weather if we decide to put it outdoors. The design is white plastic on both the base and the body of the system, except, as we have said, the area of the lens.
Technical characteristics: Efficient Full HD resolution
The Argus Pro model of this Reolink camera also has a series of technical characteristics that we are going to detail, however, the most relevant thing is the capacity of its battery, the fact that We have Full HD 1080p resolution for recording and live, as well as the possibility of storing on the microSD card all the content of the alarm, yes, we will not have cloud storage unless we subscribe to the Reolink service.

It is worth noting its very important autonomy thanks to the 5.200 mAh battery, which is also capable of being charged thanks to a solar panel that we can buy in a pack or separately, which makes it a totally ideal outdoor camera. The autonomy, in our first tests, has offered us up to a month of recording using a motion sensor without completely draining the battery, a battery that in just over 2 hours is complete. Without a doubt, it is its main asset, autonomy.
Reolink application and capabilities
The Reolink app it is absolutely necessary so that we can add the camera to our management and control system of the content that the camera captures. So, the first thing we are going to do is download the application to Android or for iOS depending on the Operating System we use. When we have it, we will press the "+" button in the upper right corner and then scanning the QR code that appears on the back of the camera will guide us through an automatic management system. The reality is that the application interface as well as the management system are quite comfortable.
Once included, we will simply be able to access all the camera's capabilities through the iOS application, These are the most important among those we have tested:
- Activate a motion detection system that triggers the camera only when it detects it
- Access live and direct both sound and video of what is happening
- Interact through the speaker with the audio that we emit from the mobile phone
- Notice of motion notifications
- Storage of the last 30 seconds when skipping a notification
- Low battery warning
- Automate recording, on and off
- Holiday mode
Undoubtedly, the application and the user experience is quite satisfactory, despite the fact that these Reolink cameras are not yet compatible with Alexa or Google Home (obviously not with HomeKit), the virtual assistants that have recently been deployed in Spain. Unfortunately we are going to have to go through its own application for any type of management in the face of the video camera, but the application is extremely good.
User experience and editor's rating
Our user experience has been good in general, the camera gives good results and the performance has been what can be expected from a firm that has some experience in this type of product, we are going to see the best and the worst of the product.
Worst
Cons
- Motion sensor resistance
We have found the worst of the product in the fact that not compatible with major virtual assistants such as Alexa or HomeKit, so we will not be able to automate the operation outside of your application.
Best
Pros
- Materials and design
- Recording quality
- Application
The main asset Of this camera, without a doubt in addition to the design, is the fact that the functionalities are very extensive, both the customization of the system and the possibility of recording in Full HD and recording in night mode are surprisingly good.

We are facing a product that costs 118 euros on Amazon, which is not much considering the price of the competition, although it will cost it to compete with firms such as Xiaomi or Yi in terms of prices and compatibility. Also, Reolink has an offer special 10% discount with the code: AGREO10.
