It seemed that ASUS was waiting for everything to relax in the framework of the Mobile World Congress that is being held in Barcelona to deploy its entire arsenal and show the public what it had hidden up its sleeve. Be careful, because we are not only talking about the technical characteristics of your new ASUS ZenFone 5, but price is also an important element in the purchase decision and ASUS has taken it into account.
Next-generation Qualcomm processors for mobile platforms; a knockdown price and a design that hasn't let anyone down either. This is how the new range of smart phones from the Taiwanese company could be roughly described; the one that found the goose that laid the golden eggs when she launched years ago what is now known as netbook. ASUS has been in the business for years smartphones, but it seems that this new ASUS ZenFone 5 can hit the spot. We describe what we have seen in his presentation.
ASUS ZenFone 5 and ASUS ZenFone 5N, the top of the range
There are three new terminals that are added to the ASUS catalog. And the two greatest exponents of this new range are the ASUS ZenFone 5 and ZenFone 5Z. The first thing we will tell you is that the model called "5Z" is the most powerful of all and that the best is in its price: it will start at 479 euros.
Also, aesthetically, both models are the same: all screen (they occupy up to 90% of the total surface) and enjoy a diagonal of 6,2 inches with Full HD + resolution. On the other hand, another of the characteristics that you will be able to appreciate in this model has to be seen at the top of the screen. Why? Well, because they have followed what Apple has arranged on its iPhone X and ASUS has copied it. That is, your new ASUS ZenFone 5 and ZenFone 5Z have a "Notch" where we will find the front camera and the different sensors.
Be careful, because ASUS has not hidden during the presentation and its best asset - according to the company - is that this island, eyebrow or simply Notch It is smaller than the one used by the Apple model. That said, the two big differences between the two versions are: processor, RAM and storage space. The ASUS ZenFone 5 has inside a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor, with the possibility of mounting up to 6 GB of RAM and a space to save files of up to 64 GB.
For its part, the ASUS ZenFone 5Z will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor -the latest on the platform-, which may be accompanied by a RAM of up to 8 GB and a total storage of up to 256 GB. Almost nothing. Meanwhile, in the back we will have a 12 megapixel resolution dual camera.
Finally, in both teams you will have a 3.300 milliamp battery capacity; a USB-C port, 2 × 2 WiFi, LTE / 4G connection and the latest version of Android, Android 8.0 Oreo.
ASUS ZenFone 5 Lite, the smallest of the house
We will also have the terminal to open the new range. And this honor is from ASUS ZenFone 5 Lite. And as you may well know from other companies - especially Huawei - the last name "Lite" is for those versions with more modest features. And it won't change at all this time.
The ASUS ZenFone 5 Lite has a 6-inch diagonal Full HD + screen. Meanwhile, inside we will have the processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 that can be accompanied by a RAM memory of up to 4 GB and a storage space of up to 64 GB.
Meanwhile, in its back part we will have a dual sensor camera (16 megapixels) and a front camera focused on taking selfies of its owner. In this case we will have a sensor that offers a maximum resolution of 20 megapixels. What else can we hire from this terminal? Which also has the Android 8.0 version installed; that it is compatible with the latest generation 4G networks and that its battery has a capacity of 3.300 milliamps.
Photo cameras with Artificial Intelligence
If they want to differentiate themselves from other models, it is in the photographic part of the high-end models. ASUS wanted to combine good photo results with artificial intelligence. And to take advantage of this, implement three functions: AI Scene Detection, AI Photo Learning and AI Boost. All of them want to achieve the best possible capture after exhaustive studies of the best scene, the best way to edit them afterwards and achieve better performance of the terminal adjusting to each situation.
