Asus TUF Dash F15, power and design can go hand in hand

Desktop computers are increasingly absent from desktops, in fact, even the most gamers, the main audience for this type of computer, are moving to the portable format in recent years due to the new designs and powerful features they provide. These devices.

The Asus Dash F15, a gaming laptop with outstanding features and a design that makes it extremely user-friendly, arrives on the test table. We are going to analyze in depth this popular laptop that perhaps you came to because of the features but that you will end up buying for the design, do not miss it.

As on many other occasions, the review complete video at the top will show you the unboxing and its main design features. Don't forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel so that we can continue to bring you this interesting content. If you liked it, you can buy it on Amazon at the best price.

Materials and design: Elegance without brutalism

If there is something that makes me uneasy about gaming computers, it is their aggressive lines, their striking colors and their excessive thickness. Asus in this TUF Dash F15 takes all of that and polishes it, just like diamonds. We have a computer with a 19,9 millimeter profile, made of a hybrid of metal and plastics that meets MIL-STD military standards, durability is an important aspect in general in all ASUS products and in this it was not going to be less.

We have availability for two colors, the Moonlight White and Eclipse Gray (essentially white and dark gray). On the upper part we have the initials TUF and the new logo of the brand. We have analyzed the model in dark gray so we are going to focus on it. On both sides we have physical connection ports that we will talk about later. The display frame, despite being quite thin, has a considerable bottom burr. The total weight of 2 Kg, without being a panacea, is light for what the sector offers.

Hardware and GPU promise us the future

We are obviously going to start with the most important thing, the specifications table in which we highlight the processor Intel Core i7-11 370H 3,3 GHz, 4 cores (12M cache, up to 4,8 GHz). To move it, we have Windows 10 Home pre-installed with a free Windows 11 update. How could it be otherwise, this model is accompanied by a dual 8GB 4MHz DDR3200 memory module, with a maximum configurable capacity of up to 32 GB of RAM.

  • Processor: Intel Core i7-11 370H 3,3 GHz, 4 cores
  • RAM: 16GB DDR4 3200MHz
  • SSD: 512GB M.2 NVMe PCIe 3.0 SSD
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070

The storage of the tested unit is 512 GB of M.2 NVMe PCIe 3.0 SSD memory that offers speeds in our tests of 3400 MB / s read and 2300 MB / s write, more than enough to move the OS and video games. We can, yes, opt for the same unit in capacity for 1 TB.

We now focus on what is important, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 that will be in charge of the graphic section and that has offered in its versions «laptop» a performance in Geekbenck of 121069 points, very close to the desktop version of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX3070.

Connectivity of all kinds

We start with physical connectivity, On the left side we have the proprietary power port, a full Gigabit RJC45 port, an HDMI 2.0b, a USB 3.2 and a USB-C Thunderbolt 4 - Power Deilvery accompanied by a 3,5mm Jack. For the right side we have two standard USB 3.2 and the Kensington keychain.

  • 3x USB 3.2
  • HDMI 2.0b
  • USB-C Thunderbolt 4 PD
  • 3,5 Jack mm
  • RJ45

Obviously, if the wired section is so complete, with that USB-C compatible with 4K monitors at 60Hz and with loads up to 100W, for the wireless section it could not be less. We have Bluetooth 5.0 and WiFi 6, This last section in our tests has produced a contradictory feeling with 5 GHz networks where the range has been notably limited and the ping may not be as desired, we recommend using the cable despite the high compatibility.

Testing and cooling

The computer has four fans, 83 blades each, and an improved anti-dust cooling system. Five heat pipes in total for the entire device and a result that was expected from a computer of this type in the middle of summer, hot, very hot. However, we have not obtained annoying results or that significantly differentiate it from the competition, so the cooling seems sufficient.

In our tests, computer performance In Cities Skylines, Call of Duty Warzone and CS GO we have had quite high FPS rates, without any performance problems or heating. For obvious reasons, the laptop will be able to handle the vast majority of your catalog in the best viewing conditions.

Multimedia and general experience

We are not going to leave without talking about the screen, we have a 15,6-inch panel in 16: 9 ratio, I like its anti-glare treatment and it is capable of displaying 100 of the sRGB spectrum, with a refresh rate of 120 Hz which is not bad for an IPS panel. Of course, the brightness can be improved, although we have not accessed the exact data regarding its brightness per cd / m2. The sound is clear and powerful enough to enjoy multimedia content, with a good location in general.

  • We don't have a webcam

The keyboard has a good travel, resembling a lot more "gaming" style. We have screen prints and RGB LEDs all over the place, with a total offset of 1,7mm. It is silent, something that is appreciated, and it responds well. We cannot say the same about the trackpad, it seems small and imprecise, but it is not a problem with this computer, but with almost all those that Apple does not manufacture. We have little to nothing to talk about autonomy, it will depend a lot on the playing requirement, just over two hours, we recommend that you use it connected.

Editor's Opinion

This laptop part of the 1.299 for its entry version, up to 1.699 euros of the version that we have tested, a very interesting alternative to the devices that we have available in the market due to its design and capabilities.
