Audio Dock Samsung DA-E750, speaker with vacuum tube amplifier

Samsung Dock

In the world of sound we have options to satisfy all user tastes. The product that we bring you, the Samsung DA-E750 Audio Dock, it is a bit out of the ordinary and bets on offering fantastic finishes and very complete connectivity to be able to connect any audio source.

Despite its good looks, the best of this dock is in its sound quality and in its vacuum tube based amplifier with which Samsung wants to achieve a more natural sound.

First impressions

As soon as we remove the Samsung DA-E750 Audio Dock from its box, we can see that it weighs a lot (8,6 Kg) in relation to its dimensions (450x148x240 mm), something normal when we see that we have two two-way speakers and a subwoofer in its lower part that together, add a power of 100W RMS.

Its visual appearance is fantastic and I have to say that I have never seen a Samsung product with such good finishes. Virtually the entire body of the speaker features a glossy wood finish for a very stylish appearance.

At the top of the dock we see the control panel consisting of four buttons to control the main functions of the product. We also see a glass window that protrudes slightly and in which we can see the two vacuum tubes that are used to amplify the audio signal.

In the back we have the physical patch panel in which we see the connector for the power supply, a USB port, an audio input based on a 3,5 mm jack, an Ethernet port, the Reset button and a port for the SAT. If we keep moving forward, we find a mechanism push-in / out that leaves the discovered a dock with 30-pin connection for Apple devices and a microUSB for other Smartphone or tablets. It should be noted that this product is also compatible with AirPlay, AllShare and has Bluetooth 3.0.

Finally, if we flip the Samsung DA-E750 Audio Dock, we will see that there is a generously sized subwoofer which will take care of covering the reproduction of the lowest frequencies.

When it comes to aesthetics and connections, we have nothing to object to. Now it's time to see if the audio section is up to par.

Listening to music on the DA-E750 Audio Dock

Samsung Dock

As we have already mentioned, we can connect any audio source to this product since we have connections for all tastes. In our case, we have decided to test Apple's AirPlay protocol and enjoy the advantages it has listen to music wirelessly via Wi-Fi.

After performing a small configuration process so that the dock can connect to our network, everything is ready to press the Play button and enjoy. To do the first test I chose one quite melodic song, with a variety of instruments and a voice that makes the hair stand on end from the beginning.

I am about to press the Play button, the music begins to play and we can perceive that sound quality is in line with the rest of the equipment. It is fantastic to be able to listen to a song as it was created, without some instruments blocking each other and without there being a struggle between frequencies.

Samsung Dock

We can perceive all the nuances of a song in the same way as if we were listening to it with quality headphones and that denotes the effort that Samsung has put into making a good product.

We keep hearing similar songs and all of them sound really good, giving the feeling that the group is playing in front of us.

Given that it handles so well with these styles, let's see if we are dealing with a versatile speaker or if it gets along better with some genres than with others. Now we opt for something that offers a presence of more forceful bass and it is where we perceive some lack.

Samsung Dock

Samsung hasn't wanted the subwoofer to mask the higher frequencies because this way we would lose details of the songs that we could not hear if we have a too powerful subwoofer. Still, we are talking about 60W RMS of power for bass while the remaining 40W RMS is distributed for the mid and tweeters.

At the end we have a balanced sound in which no frequency is above another. Listening to music on the Samsung DA-E750 Audio Dock is on another level and that's unquestionable.

Amplifier with vacuum tubes

Samsung Dock

In a world where the proliferation of transistors has made it possible to miniaturize electronic components to the maximum, it is not common to find an amp that makes use of vacuum tubes.

Vacuum valves amplify an electrical signal through the movement of electrons in empty space. Thanks to its design, this electronic component enables high fidelity sound.

In the case of the Samsung DA-E750 Audio Dock, there are two vacuum valves that are visible through a glass window. When the amplifier is on, the vacuum tubes take on an orange hue that is very beautiful in conjunction with the aesthetics of the speaker.

Conclusions

Samsung Dock

We are facing a dock with multiple connections for all those who want to enjoy music marketing in all its glory.

We would have liked to see the dock with a Lightning connection for the latest Apple devices but we assume that Samsung will release a product review with this detail fixed.

With a recommended price of 599 euros (although in some stores it is already for 450 euros), the Audio Dock Samsung DA-E750 is a product highly recommended for its size, sound quality and connectivity.
