Casio signs up for smart watches, but in its own way

Casio is a more than recognized brand in the world of watches, especially if we talk about traditional analog watches. And it is that the firm has obtained that good reputation thanks to the durability of its watches and the quality of its components, always innovating as far as the wrist device allowed, of course.

The time has come to step forward, this is how Casio has launched a special edition of its famous G-Shock range that includes among other things GPS connectivity. We are going to learn more about this peculiar device that many were anxiously waiting for.

This model that has been baptized as the GPR B-1000 comes equipped with GPS technology, so much so that it gives us 33 hours of autonomy on a single charge, if you are able to exhaust it of course, since with four hours of direct light on the G-Shock you will get another hour of autonomy in the management of the GPS, of course this will be a strong point not to turn it into a device tied to the charging cable, especially considering the target audience for this type of watch. The integrated solar panel has been common in Casio devices for decades and they have been able to exploit it well this time.

However, the traditional charging base for the G-Shock is also wireless, as for example has the Apple Watch. Meanwhile, the case is constructed of ceramic at the rear and is only two millimeters thick. On the subject of resistance, which one would expect from a Casio G-Shock of these characteristics, sapphire crystal, carbon fiber, extreme temperatures and depths of up to 200 meters. The price is the least pleasant, around 700 euros will have on the European market from spring.
