Consumer Reports leaves out of its recommendations the new MacBook Pro

MacBook Pro Touch Bar

For many years, Mac users have been waiting for the guys from Cupertino to update the MacBook Pro, a model theoretically designed for the most demanding, but that after the presentation of the new generation with Touch Bar, has not left anyone indifferent. Many have been those who have criticized this new model, but not only some experts, but also Mac users have criticized this new model, due to the lImitation of RAM, problems with the battery, that most of the components are soldered, that neither the RAM nor the SSD can be expanded ...

Every year Consumer Reports is in charge of creating a list with the most recommended devices for users, and where we always see all Apple products. But this year things have changed and the new MacBook Pro with Touch Bar has been left out of this list, apparently due to the battery problems that the latest macOS Sierra software update claims to have fixed. Logically in Apple they have shouted in the sky, this exclusion has not done them well, and from the company they have contacted to find a weighty justification for this exclusion.

Consumer Report performs different performance tests on all devices before including or excluding us from their recommendations.

  • El 13-inch Macbook Pro without Touch Bar record 19 and a half hours of autonomy in the first test and 4 and a half hours in the second.
  • El 13-inch Macbook Pro with Touch Bar record 16 hours of autonomy, in the first test, 12 hours and 45 minutes in the second and in the third 4 hours and 45 minutes.
  • The 15-inch model with Touch Bar, more of the same, in the first test they offered 18 hours of autonomy while in the second the autonomy was 8 hours.

The problem with battery performance has been the only reason this new MacBook Pro has been excluded from the annual recommendations, something that will undoubtedly do a lot of damage to Apple.
