Materials and design
As a Creative product that it is, we find a fairly high perceived quality sensation. The dimensions are quite restrained and the weight, in order to be able to transport it easily, is quite contained. However, we are surprised by the contents of the box. While the necessary USB cable for charging and connection is included, as well as the 3,5-millimeter AUX cable, we do not have a power adapter or a transport bag, which would have been greatly appreciated.
- Size: 410x70x78 mm
We have a "jet" black plastic for the top and back, while the metal grille crowns the front of the device. The right side is for its four main buttons dedicated to managing multimedia content as well as the synchronization of Bluetooth devices. The back is where we're going to find its only two ports, We are talking about the 3,5mm Jack and of course the USB-C port, something that is greatly appreciated.
Technical characteristics
The device has three types of connection basically:
- AUX connection via 3,5mm jack cable
- Bluetooth connection
- USB-C connection
To take advantage of the Bluetooth connection, the device uses Bluetooth 5.3 last generation. As for the sound, we find two custom track full-range drivers to offer a maximum power of 20W.
It has Bluetooth A2DP and AVRCP profiles, although we are surprised that it only accepts SBC codec, we would miss AAC and some more qualified sound versions like aptX.
In this aspect we find a well-adjusted sound thanks to its speakers, which however have a declared power of 5W for each one, however, Creative reports a peak of 20W and it is what we have specified throughout the article. Although it is true, this power is noticeably higher than the 10W offered at the hardware level.
quality and sound
It should be noted that each of the input and playback ports of the Creative Stage Air V2 It gives us the possibility of taking advantage of it for different devices or functionalities, we bring you a quick summary according to the tests that we have been carrying out:
-
- PC and Mac via USB 2.0
- PS5 and PS4 via USB 2.0
- Bluetooth compatible with iOS and Android
- 3,5mm jack for devices like Nintendo Switch
In this way we have a wide choice when connecting. It offers "camouflaged" bass that, however, is quite good if we take into account that it lacks active woofers. We have a maximum power that does not distort, however, the sound lacks some body at certain times, especially in the mid and low ranges.
As for autonomy, we have a 2.100 mAh battery that will give us a maximum of six hours, although as always, This will depend on the volume that we are adjusting to the device, as well as the conditions of the Bluetooth network. In our tests, both the Bluetooth range and the autonomies promised by Creative have been fulfilled in most cases, which makes it a very interesting product to liven up our pool parties, but be careful, since it does not It has no kind of resistance to water or shock.
It does have, however, a series of older sisters within the Stage V2 range that offer other possibilities according to the needs of each type of user.
Editor's opinion
Creative's Stage Air V2 It is a sound bar that is offered at a highly competitive price of only 59,99 euros, this is undoubtedly the most striking point of the device. It will meet most of your needs and that of the little ones in the home. It is clearly not intended as a product to satisfy the needs of lovers of high-quality sound, much less to accompany your large television, it stands out under a monitor for certain video games or to accompany with some music, nothing more.
