Eufy RoboVac G20 Hybrid discreet and effective cleaning [Review]

Eufy continues to bet on the connected, intelligent and, above all, helpful home. In this case, we have to talk about those small, round robots that star in many videos on TikTok, usually because of the special dislike with which they are treated by other members of the household, such as cats.

On this occasion we analyze in depth the new Eufy RoboVac G20 Hybrid, an alternative in the mid-range with great suction and easy configuration. Discover with us this last option of the connected cleaning catalog that Eufy offers us and if it is really worth taking into account its competitors.

Materials and design

In this case Eufy has not bet, it has not innovated, it has not dared... Let's be honest, it is difficult to see a robot vacuum cleaner that catches your attention, essentially they are all the same and I understand that it is due to the fact that its design is so functional that changing just one millimeter would bring more problems than solutions. It is because of that we are not going to take into account that this robot vacuum cleaner looks like the other three million available on the market and we are going to focus on the layout of its hardware and the quality of its materials.

  • Box contents:
    • Vacuum cleaner robot
    • Power adapter
    • extra filter
    • Water tank
    • washable mop
    • flanges
    • bonus brush
    • Manual

The device is 32 centimeters in diameter and the most surprising thing is that it is only 7,2 centimeters thick, and it is that Eufy already warns us that we are facing a rather thin device, something that we confirm. The upper part is made of glass, attractive for fingerprints but supremely easy to clean, something that I prefer over the "jet black" that other brands usually put on and whose durability does not go beyond a couple of days. As for the weight, we do not have exact figures, and taking into account that we are not going to carry it in our pocket, I have not considered it essential to put it on the scale, although good bucket eye I can tell you that it is quite light.

Layout of elements and technical characteristics

We have a rather traditional arrangement in terms of the elements of the lower base of the Eufy RoboVac G20 Hybrid, with a mixed central broom, with silicone and nylon bristles, which in my opinion are the most effective for all types of surfaces. Accompanied in turn by two cushioned wheels to be able to overcome obstacles of around 3 centimeters, with an endless wheel leading the device and a single side brush.

For the rear The dirt tank remains, the water tank, which would be attached to the aforementioned one, and the mop that adheres with Velcro. We do, however, have an ON/OFF switch, something that has not been seen in this type of product lately and that is sincerely appreciated, especially if we plan not to use it for a long period of time, Eufy well pointed out.

Lastly, in the upper part, as we have said, we have the tempered glass base, a single button for configuration and management and a WiFi connectivity LED indicator, nothing more remarkable.

In the technical section, we have WiFi connectivity to sync our RoboVac G20 Hybrid with the Eufy app, available in both iOS as in Android completely free of charge. We also have a gyro sensor for navigation, as well as a series of sensors focused on the robot not falling on surfaces at different heights. The same in terms of suction power, which will oscillate between 1.500 and 2.500 Pa according to our needs, the surface detected and the power that we have assigned through the application.

Cleaning and functionalities

Once we have synchronized the robot with the application Eufy Home we will be able to alternate between four suction modes and a "scrubbing" mode. This device, despite not having a laser navigation system, uses a system called Smart Dynamic Navigation, that is, it uses parallel lines instead of a random system, which allows it to be more precise and efficient in cleaning.

We have a system of scrub through a wet mop, which, as you well know, is attractive for wooden and platform floors, but which leaves "damp marks" on ceramic floors.

The maximum noise it emits is 55dB something remarkable considering its suction capacity and the thickness of the device, and it is that one of the premises of Eufy is precisely to bet on a silent robot that goes unnoticed. Finally, we must bear in mind that we will be able to synchronize it with Alexa whenever we have managed to configure it with the application quickly.

  • Controls from the app:
    • Programming Languages
    • suction control
    • driving control
    • Spot Cleaning (in circles)

With regards to autonomy, we are going to navigate between the 120 minutes that it offers us with the silent mode of minimum suction, following with 70 minutes of cleaning in the standard mode and approximately 35 minutes if we set it to the maximum suction mode.

Editor's opinion

At this point we are faced with a fairly versatile robot, which stands out mainly for being quite silent and compact, which far from other pretensions is limited to performing its tasks in a non-invasive way. The autonomy is sufficient and the suction power is remarkable, especially considering the dimensions of the device.

The application has a series of limited functionalities that are consistent with the characteristics of the device. Surely we meet before an alternative within the mid-range for a price that once on sale in Spain is 300 euros, although you can already acquire it directly from the teufy online store. Once again we have to weigh whether it is worth buying devices at the same price that offer more features, or betting on a recognized firm whose functionality and durability are practically guaranteed. Meanwhile our cleaning, suction, autonomy and noise experience with this Eufy RoboVac Hybrid G20 has been good.
