Galaxy beta program users cannot enjoy Gear VR

GearVR-new

Samsung has launched the beta machinery to update its terminals in the Galaxy S, S6 and S7 range, and with a bit of luck users of a Galaxy S7 will be able to enjoy Android Nougat on their terminal before the end of the year, While users of the Galaxy S6 will have to wait at least until January. Better late than never. Currently in beta version for both terminals, there are many applications that currently do not work because they have not yet been updated to the latest version of Android 7 to try to get the most out of it.

One of the applications that can most annoy the users of this beta program, that it does not work in the one related to the Gear VR glasses. Apparently the Oculus app has not been updated yet to be compatible with Android Nougat 7.X, so when the application runs and tries to connect to the Oculus store, an error is displayed on the screen that completely stops access to the virtual reality environment.

At the moment there is no way to solve this problem, at least in the first betas, in which Samsung is focusing on optimizing overall system performance, not the optional applications of these devices, as is the case of the application that allows us to manage the Gear VR.

If you can't live without the feeling these glasses give you, the only possible option is to restore the device completely and leave the beta program, so that the latest version compatible with your terminal is downloaded, which is available on Samsung's servers. But if you do not have these glasses or you are simply not in a hurry, you will only have to wait at most a month in the case of the S7 and two months in the case of the Galaxy S6.
