This is the Galaxy Fit, the new Samsung activity bracelet

Samsung Galaxy Fit

Samsung has taken advantage of the Unpacked event, because in addition to presenting their new high-end phones, the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy fold, the korean brand has also launched a number of additional devices, also known as wearables. Along with the aforementioned smartphone, and its new smartwatch, the galaxy active, has presented the new activity wristbands Galaxy Fit and Galaxy Fit e.

Although with the Galaxy Active we did have some leak prior to the event, being able to create an expectation of what we were going to find today in the Unpacked, in the case of the Galaxy Fit it is different, since it is about a device that practically no one expected, and what comes for replace Gear range, merging for the moment all the wearables in the Galaxy range.

Specifications of the Galaxy Fit

Within the new range of the Galaxy Fit, we find, in the same way that occurs with the Samgung Galaxy S10a new nomenclature that defines a simplified version of the product. That is, in addition to the Galaxy Fit, the Galaxy Fit e.

The differences between both versions lie mainly on the screenBeing in color on the Galaxy Fit and black and white on the Galaxy Fit e. We also find, as a clear visual difference, a different range of colors between both versions of the new Samsung bracelet, being able to choose between black and silver in the standard model, while the options expand to black, white and yellow in the cheapest model, giving it a more sporty and informal appearance.

But it is clear that somewhere they have had to cut back to be able to offer a product at a lower price. In addition to the black and white screen of the Galaxy Fit e, as we will see in the comparison table below, we find lower pixel density. This perhaps on such a small screen is not as important as it may have on a smartphone, but it is a detail to take into account.

In the same way is the difference in RAM, being quadrupled in the Galaxy Fit compared to the model e, and the battery suffers a reduction of almost 50% in this latest model, arriving up to a week long between load and load at best.

With the new rival for the queen of activity bracelets, the Mi Band from Xiaomi, Samsung hopes to further expand its market niche, offering a product whose name is a guarantee of quality, as is the case in the rest of the Galaxy product range, for those users who either cannot afford to spend a greater amount of money for the purchase of a wearable, or who are looking for a series of Simpler features than a smartwatch offers, like the new GalaxyActive.

Although without a doubt, the Galaxy Fit is focused on basic monitoring during sports training, starting with the record of each exercise every time we start to do it, without having to set or configure any parameter on our bracelet. Of course, it is also capable of monitor our sleep and heart rate, giving us information about these, as well as tips to improve our health.

Prices and availability

Although Samsung has not yet confirmed official pricing, its price range is expected to be between the approximately € 30 that the Xiaomi Mi Band costs, its main competitor, and the more than € 130 that the current Gear Fit 2 costs. No date of putting on sale has been confirmed either., although it would not be unreasonable to think that it will be available from next March 8, as will happen with the new smartwatch of the Galaxy family, the Galaxy Active.

Be that as it may, soon the Galaxy family will grow to adapt to the needs of each user, and we do not doubt that the new Galaxy Fit, as well as its simplified version, the Galaxy Fit e, will be the most popular and widespread models among buyers.
