After many months of rumors and leaks, we have finally got rid of doubts. Samsung has officially presented the new S20 range, a range that becomes the successor to the S10. Samsung has decided that now that we have entered a new decade it was time to change the nomenclature of its flagship product.
The new Galaxy S20 range is composed of three terminals, like the S10 range, but unlike this one, andThe low-cost model has disappeared completely and a much more powerful version than the normal one has been added, at least in the photographic section baptized as Ultra, a terminal that will allow us to get the most out of our smartphone's camera.
Same design as the Galaxy S10
The design of the S20 varies very little from what the company offered us last year, something logical if we consider that the room for improvement is now inside the devices and not inside the devices. The main difference with the S10 is found in the location of the front camera, which has gone from being in the upper right corner to the upper central part, like the Note 10 range.
Each of the models that are part of the Galaxy S20 range offers us a different screen size, from the 6,2-inch S20 "just plain" to the 6,9-inch S20 Ultra through 6,7-inch of the S20 Pro. All models offer us a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz and integrate the fingerprint sensor under the screen.
Photography matters, and a lot
In recent years, Samsung had given way to Huawei as king of the mobile camera market, according to the guys at DxOMark, but it looks like this year they want to regain the throne with the S20 Ultra, the model that offers us a greater number of photographic functions, as well as a larger sensor, optical zoom and the possibility of recording videos in 8k format, although this option is available in all models of the S20 range.
To take advantage of all the potential offered by the S20 cameras, Samsung allows us through the official application to modify the photographic values of the camera, as if it were a DSLR. When taking pictures, the S20 will allow us use all cameras to take the same capture, so that later we can select which is the one that best suits our needs.

The Ultra model with a 108 mpx sensor will allow us to enlarge the images to extract the most important details without resorting to optical zoom that other manufacturers use and that in the end always affects the quality of the image. To demonstrate the quality of video recording offered by the S20 Ultra, Samsung has used this terminal to make the presentation.
Power to spare
Both the Galaxy S20 and the Galaxy S20 Pro are available in 4G and 5G versions, the latter version at a slightly higher price. The Galaxy S20 Ultra is only available in 5G version. Samsung has not wanted to complicate life by launching a different version as it did last year. Without a doubt, this is good news for all those users who do not renew their smartphone very often and want to do so this year. As in previous years, Samsung has chosen to launch a model with the Snapdragon 865 for the United States and China and another for Europe and the rest of the countries with the Exynos 990.
