The 8-inch Galaxy S6,2 would not be called Edge, but S8 +

Samsung

As the weeks go by, each time we echo new rumors that inform us about more features of the upcoming flagships of the Korean company. At the moment what seems clear is that Samsung will expand the size of its screens by placing them in 5,7 and 6,2 inches without increasing the size of the terminal too much, since it takes advantage of a good part of the front of the device for this, along with the sides, so that Samsung would not launch a flat version as it had happened with the Samsung S6 and the Samsung S7.

To differentiate both models, Samsung added the Edge tag to the terminals with the curved screen on both sides, a screen that will have the same shape in the only two terminals as the S8 range that Samsung will present in the coming weeks. By having both terminals a curved screen on the front, the surname Edge makes no sense to continue being used, so Samsung has to try to differentiate both models in some way.

According to Evan Blass, Samsung has decided to differentiate both terminals by adding the tagline +, pronounced Plus at the end of the terminal name to replace the word Edge. In this way, the names of the two terminals that will reach the market as new flagships of Samsung will be the Samsun Galaxy S8 and the Samsung Galaxy S8 +. Evan Blass has posted on his twitter account @evleaks, what could be the final logo used by Samsung for this device, a 62-inch terminal.

The main and practically only difference between the 5,7-inch terminal and the 6,2-inch model would be on the screen size, since most of the components would be the same, as well as the features and functions, without falling into the differentiation that Apple is doing lately with the 4,7 and 5,5-inch model.
