Galaxy Watch Active 2: Samsung's new smartwatch

Galaxy Watch Active

Samsung is significantly improving its presence in the wearables market. Part of this has to do with its renewed range, which has left us with a watch and several bracelets so far this year. The Korean brand takes advantage of the arrival of the Galaxy Note 10 to bring its new watch. It's about the Galaxy Watch Active 2, which was presented this Monday.

The Galaxy Watch Active 2 is the successor to the watch that they left us in February. The company has improved certain aspects of it, such as the introduction of new health functions. In addition, they leave us with a slight change in the design of this watch, called to be a new success for Samsung.

In this case, the design remains almost intact. Samsung has introduced in it the so-called touch bezel (Touch Bezel). Thanks to it, the user is offered the possibility of navigating the interface by touching the edge, but without actually doing it. A kind of gesture navigation, to call it that. Otherwise there are no changes, except that it is released in two sizes.

We met with two different sizes on this Galaxy Watch Active 2, although its specifications remain almost the same in the main aspects. But there are differences in the battery, for example. In this new Galaxy Watch Active 2 we find two great news, as far as functions are concerned. They were leaked a few weeks ago, and they make it clear that Samsung has taken note of the Apple Watch, since they are two functions that are present in the most recent generation of Apple watches. It's about the electrocardiogram and the detection of falls.

The electrocardiogram is the star function in this new generation of the watch. Thanks to this function, it is possible to send electrical impulses to the heart, to obtain a deep reading and to be able to detect abnormalities, such as possible arrhythmias in the heart. It's a feature that has received rave reviews on the Apple Watch, as well as helping save some people's lives.

On the other hand, we also find fall detection on the Galaxy Watch Active 2. It works thanks to the accelerometer of the watch. It is intended to detect if there are shocks or sudden falls by the user, and if necessary, notify emergencies. So it can be something of enormous utility for users.
