At the beginning of this year 2018, Google gave the starting signal of its bet on audiobooks. It opened a section of narrated books in its Google Play store and thus make the books reach more people. Two months later, Google adds new functions to enjoy, even more, these titles.
Google audiobooks were missing some improvements to be able to enjoy the titles at any time. However, it appears that the internet giant is doing well and improved user experience with new functions that you can enjoy both on Android and iOS.
The first to be added is the so-called "Smart Resume". This function will make never lose the thread of everything you are hearing about the story you are immersed in. What's more, when using a smartphone to do so, you probably have more than one interruption during the narration (some call, some warning, etc.) In this case, this new feature will intelligently rewind to the last word you heard of the story.
Second we will have we will have the bookmarks or «Bookmarks». And it is that being able to place markers in the passages that have marked us the most in a story to relive them, is priceless. And less for those who are used to always carrying a pencil and paper with them.
Thirdly, we will have the possibility to add Google audiobooks to our day-to-day routines and automate reading - or listening - with Google Assistant. That is, the Google virtual assistant will include the audiobook as something everyday in your mornings. You can also increase or decrease the narration speed to suit your needs.
Last but not least, the audiobooks you have purchased on Google Play you can share as a family. A movement that Apple has already had for some time among its functions of sharing content in a family account. This can be done thanks to the function "Family Library" o Family Library and it has been included in 13 countries, including Spain.
