Google Pixel XL Vs Nexus 6P, the past versus the present

Google Pixel

The new Google Pixel XL It is already a reality and at the moment it seems, despite the fact that everyone misses many things in it, that it is being a sales success since the stock of this new mobile device was finished in just 24 hours. To check the evolution of the new Google terminal, Today we have decided to confront it with the last Nexus that hit the market, the Nexus 6P, manufactured by Huawei and which many consider to be the best terminal manufactured by Google in its history.

With this confrontation, many will be able to decide if it is worth updating their Nexus 6P by acquiring the new Google Pixel XL and also if it is worth acquiring the new smartphone from the search giant or it is preferable to acquire the last member of the Nexus family. If you are interested in acquiring a terminal with the Google seal, with total security this article will also help you to draw interesting conclusions.

Main differences between both terminals

The first thing that we are going to notice between these two mobile devices with the Google seal is the size of the screen. Yes the Nexus 6P has a 5,7-inch screen with a QuadHD resolution, the Google Pixel XL maintains the resolution, but reduces the size of its screen to 5.5 inches. For many this means that it is more manageable and is the most repeated size among the best smartphones available on the market.

It is striking when it comes to the design that despite having the same battery, the thickness is very different and that is that if the thickness in the Nexus is minimal, standing at 7.3 millimeters, the new Pixel goes up to 8.6 millimeters .

Pixel XL Vs Nexus 6P

As for the processors, in both devices we find the most cutting edge of the time. Huawei equipped the Nexus 6P with the Snapdragon 810 and now HTC, the real maker of the Google Pixel XL, has decided to mount a Snapdragon 821 which is today the leading processor. The RAM is also different, something logical, and together with the 810 we find a 3GB RAM and 4GB are the ones that accompany the 820.

As for the camera, the two terminals mount an outstanding camera that has been applauded by many users. In the Nexus 6P we find a sensor Sony IMX377, while the new Pixel we find the Sony IMX378. In both cases the sensors have the same number of megapixels, although the final results are quite different.

Nor should we forget the huge differences in price, and that is that the Nexus 6P can currently be purchased for just over 400 euros and the Google Pixel XL for more than 800 euros depending on the version we want to purchase. Without a doubt, the existing difference is enormous and this is one of the reasons why many criticize the new mobile devices of the search giant.

Main similarities between the Google Pixel XL and the Nexus 6P

Among the similarities we find a quite similar design, despite having been manufactured one by Huawei and another by HTC, although with the obvious differences in the size of the screen and in the thickness that we have already commented previously.

For the rest we could say that there are not too many similarities between the two terminals, although we must highlight the identical batteries, something surprising despite the thickness of the Google Pixel XL. Of course, in the absence of testing and squeezing it to the fullest, it is expected that the battery may have a greater autonomy due to the smaller size of the screen compared to the Nexus 6P.

Verdict; the present surpasses the past, although by little

Really Blue

The criticized new Google Pixel XL measures up to the Nexus 6P, but more for small details, than for large new functionalities or features. And is that the news in this new terminal from Google are not too many, although that is not reflected in the price, quite high for the kind of terminal that we find.

Honestly, if you have a Nexus 6P right now, we can't find the reason why you should buy one of the new Google Pixel XL, unless you want to have the latest in the mobile phone market. At the design level they are very similar, neither of them lack power and performance, and we are facing two cameras with a Sony soul and that are the best that we can find in the market.

Some of the advantages of the new Google Pixel XL are the union of the fingerprint reader with Google Assistant, the possibility of using the Pixel Launcher and also the new version of Android Nugget 7.0 which has some specific options and functions for the new smartphones of the search giant.

Well in my opinion there is no color. Nexus 6P takes a look at the "new" google pixel ... selling pretty much the same product with minor improvements (mostly software), in exchange for nearly 20% thicker and twice the price .... I'd say it's going back in time mr. Google!!

I have a p6 and it is an excellent phone. It seems to me that the change is not worth it. The nexus is a pure Android experience.
