GP90 projector review, affordable and very interesting

G90

After a long time trying to do a test like this, we have finally had access to a projector that, contrary to what you can imagine before even proposing its purchase, is much more powerful and interesting than you can imagine, not to mention a almost mandatory purchase for anyone who wants to try one of those devices before launching into the purchase of one created by a much more internationally recognized brand.

Before starting to explore everything that a projector like the GP90, I would like to emphasize precisely the difference of this product with those of the competition since, while brands such as JVC, Sony or Epson, three of the companies whose players are among the most recognized in the market, they have a price that of average far exceeds 3.000 euros, on rare occasions the GP90 can be yours for just under 200 euros, speaking of official price, without discounts. If you want it with discounts, you can buy it here for only € 119 as we will indicate at the end of this analysis.

Functional and attractive aesthetics

G90 rear

One of the most interesting points of this project is, without a doubt, its aesthetics. A section where the company's designers have worked hard and that may be one of the most powerful reasons why many users finally opt for this projector rather than others with similar characteristics that you can find on the market.

At this point, before continuing, we have to bear in mind precisely that we are talking about a product whose official price is slightly less than 200 euros, something that makes Used materials, despite the fact that they present a practically perfect fit and of good quality make us doubt how they can stand the test of time.

Focusing for a moment on its exterior aesthetics, we find a case made entirely of plastic with a very good touch. At the top of it we find directly the typical buttons to control the projector's power as well as the different menu options, the source from which we want to reproduce ... The front, the area where a large lens has been located, stands out for its silver tone, which contrasts sharply with the rest of the case in black. If we go to one of its sides, we find the wheels to improve the definition of the image to, already at the back, find the power supply and the RCA, USB, HDMI or VGA inputs.

As you can see, this is a projector especially suitable for use in any home thanks to its connections and capacity. First of all, you have to take into account something that we have not yet talked about and it is precisely the size of the projector, something that we should take into account when purchasing a product like this. On this occasion, the GP90 stands out for its 28 centimeters front, 22 centimeters deep and 10 centimeters high.

Technical characteristics

G90 lens

If we go into the technical characteristics section, the truth is that we are facing a very interesting product without ever wanting to be the best on the market or compete with the big brands. We have an example in your contrast ratio where we meet a 10.000:1, enough to provide a pretty good resolution of 1200 x 800 pixels natively although, by software, this resolution can be raised to 1920 x 1080. On the other hand, the colors are very vivid with an equally high white and color light emission of 3.200 lumens.

In this section it must be taken into account that the projector is equipped with a lamp with a lifespan of 30.000 hours. To put this in context, tell you that this average is equivalent to watching a movie every day for about 40 years. In this section, the truth is I do not think it is convenient to enter numbers since, in the vast majority of cases they are totally unnecessary, so I would like to focus on the results we have obtained during the test.

GP90 projector tested

G90 remote control

To carry out our test, taking into account the characteristics of the device, we did not want to use the best technology we have, but to try to simulate a much more domestic environment. With this in mind, tell you that for the test we have simply used different systems such as a laptop, a next-generation console and a UHD Blue-ray player, curiously obtaining, despite the different power and video quality extracted from each system , more or less the same results.

We start the test by pressing the projector's power key, after this action it starts up in just a few seconds. Once we can see the image we have to use the buttons located on the side to adjust the definition of the image. At this point, due to manual projector adjustment, is where we can perhaps find the greatest problem since it is not easy to get the image to be completely sharp. Obviously, all this depends on the patience we have and our sensitivity when turning the wheel.

Once the image is adjusted to our liking, something that may take a short time or a long time, depending on perception and taste, the result is pretty good and of quality since the image, in general, is usually very stable. From my experience, the truth is that it is always much better to work with the resolution of the image in native format and that if we scale it it is slightly blurred.

We come to the conclusions section, for me, at least personally, the most difficult of the entire test since we must assess all the positive points of a product like the GP90. That said, it is time to assess this projector and, personally, I have to confess that, although there are better options on the market, and there are not few, the truth is that if we filter all these options by price, we are before one of the most interesting projectors you can find today.

Without a doubt, it would be the option that you would try in case you want to have one of these players in order to start using it, see what it can offer, learn about its features and especially how to work with it. Due to this, I would recommend that, if you have never had one but want to try it, you opt for the GP90 while, if you already have one and are looking for a replacement, it may be more interesting to try other types of more complete and powerful systems although, in turn, much more expensive.

If you have reached the end of this test and, furthermore, you are interested in getting a unit to see for yourself what it is capable of, tell you that today tomtop It is for sale with a 33% discount, which means that you can get a unit for about 125 euros, a price that can be reduced to 119'69 euros if we use the coupon: SET5OFF.     Hello, I found your article very interesting and it has helped me to convince myself completely and in the end I am going to buy this projector. I have a question that I would like to have your opinion about;
What device would you buy to put android, wifi and bluetooh to the projector? Can you recommend me one?
    Thanks in advance
