The HomePod leaves white spots on furniture and Apple confirms it

HomePod

The HomePod is already in a large number of homes. Waiting for his arrival was not easy, but in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom they have been enjoying it for a few days. Now, it seems that the arrival and staging of the Apple's smart speaker has caused some accidents in the furniture and Apple confirms it.

Everyone wanted to try the Cupertino smart speaker. It is a new sector that Apple touches. It already did some time ago with the iPod HiFi, although with a clear focus on being the speaker for the iPod. Now it will do it from any company equipment you have in your possession. However, the first users of the HomePod alerted a few hours ago of a problem that they have detected in the speaker with Siri and the wooden furniture.

HomePod sign on wooden furniture

Even if we refer to the product images that Apple has shown – and continues to show – of its new launch, we can verify that in many cases it appears placed on wooden furniture. Besides, aesthetics is one of the central pillars in Cupertino and the HomePod will also 'dress' our room giving it a touch more premium. However, depending on the type of furniture we have, it is very possible that after using the speaker and lifting it we can see some white marks.

The alert was given by the digital media Pocket-Lint, who turned to Apple for answers. The company published hours later a document in which indicates how to proceed to clean the smart speaker — just with a damp cloth — and that it's not unusual for vibration-dampening silicone-based speakers to leave marks on wood furniture.

According to Apple itself, these spots would disappear after a few days when HomePod is removed from that surface. If this is not the case, the instructions of the furniture manufacturer should be used. What is clear to us with this is that if those of Tim Cook have decided to publish this information on the official website itself, it means that the complaints have not only come from the digital media that we mentioned above.
