We analyze the Honor 7, one of the best high-end

Honor-7-8

Honor has already shown us previously when launching the Honor 4x and Honor 6 Plus that a quality device does not have to be prohibitively priced. Once again the Asian company brings out this maxim with the launch of what should be its flagship, the Honor 7.

The Honor 7 combines all the features of a high-end range and a premium aesthetic with a very competitive price of € 340. After this analysis we can assert that the Honor 7 is one of the best value for money options within the high-end range. The construction of the Honor 7 is made in a unibody structure with metal construction and polished aluminum frames, added to its finishes that give off quality make this a really nice terminal with a classy aesthetic.

Design and measurements

The terminal is robust and although it is not one of the thinnest on the market at 8.5mm thick, it is still very handy, making it comfortable to interact with it. Despite its 143.2 mm high and 71.9 mm wide, a considerable measure, we are surprised that its weight only amounts to a slight 157g.

Review-Honor-7-6

On the right side of the device we find the double volume control button and the power button, a location to which both Honor and Huawei are accustomed. In this case It is worth noting a roughness in the power button that will allow us to distinguish it from others very easily, a point in favor in finishes.

At the bottom we see the speaker, the microphone and the micro USB connection, nothing remarkable, simple and effective.

On the left side we will find abcustomizable button to launch advanced applications or functions. For example, with a long press we can configure the camera to be activated, or with a double press turn on the flashlight, as I have said, it is fully customizable and makes this terminal a little more yours and personal, which we appreciate.

On the same side we find the space for two nano SIM cards or a single nano SIM plus a micro SD. Once again we can choose the configuration we want, dual sim or single sim plus additional space.

The 5.2-inch screen of the Honor 7

You will all agree that the screen is one of the most important elements in a smartphone and on many occasions we make the decision to purchase a terminal around this feature. In this case the Honor 7 mounts a 5.2-inch screen with a Full HD resolution and 424 dots per inch. Thanks to its IPS panel, the device has a very good viewing angle as well as vivid colors, in short, a very good and sharp image quality even in environments with a lot of direct light. The screen space is very much used inside the terminal, and thanks to its minimal side bezels it does not grow in width.

The Honor 7's hardware doesn't disappoint

Review-Honor-7-1

Inside the Honor 7 we find the processor HiSilicon Kirin 935 an 8-core processor Huawei's homegrown. This one has been offering very good results for some time since four of these eight Cortex-A53 cores run at 1.5Ghz and the other four reach a remarkable 2.2Ghz, very convenient for moving applications in multitasking. And what do you want me to tell you if we add the 3GB of RAM that has the device installed, it is going to fly.

The chip inside with the mission of moving the best graphics in a Mali T628MP4, and although other previous high-end terminals had better GPUs, the Honor 7 is not far behind and It is capable of moving all the games that we have notably tested, without suffering frame losses or jerks.

There are two configurations for the Honor 7: one with 16 GB of internal storage and the other with 64 GB, for many the 16GB version is going to fall short, but luckily thanks to its expansion capacity through microSD we can give it up to 64GB more memory.

La 3.100 mAh battery gives all this hardware more than enough autonomy, since giving it a conventional use, ors going to last more than a day and a half. If you put a lot of cane into it and play with it, it will be victorious at the end of the day. If you are also careful, you can have the phone charged to 100% in just over an hour since its system allows fast charging.

The software responds fluently

The Honor 7 has the EMUI 3.1 operating system layer installed, a layer that both Honor and Huawei are used to. For the software layers there are both defenders and detractors, so we are not going to enter into discussions, only to point out that it does not seem to slow down the system, as it happens in other terminals. The experience using the smartphone takes a good note and it responds fluently.

The Honor 7 currently works with Android 5.0 Lollipop, and after confirmation that there will be update to 6.0 MarshamallowIt only remains to wait patiently, but not long since rumors say that in February we could already have the OTA update.

Biometric sensor with extra functions

The fingerprint sensor works spectacularly, allowing the phone to be unlocked in a simple and ergonomic way, su location on the back of the terminal makes this function quick and intuitive, and although it does not mount a displacement sensor, the guys from Honor have endowed the biometric sensor with extra functions such as answering calls, snoozing the alarm, or firing the shutter, very useful for selfies. Ah, in case you were wondering, the sensor is 360º, so it is very easy to activate from any position and it will allow us to continue interacting with it when we use the phone in landscape.

A camera to match

Honor-7-11

A great camera for capturing images in all kinds of situations. There is no other way to define it, since its Sony IMX230 lens with a 20 megapixel sensor offers great performance. The double LED will act as a flash very effectively and the focus is surprisingly fast since it uses a technology that makes measurements of two types of light. As if that were not enough, a sapphire crystal cover will prevent scratches.

La 8 megapixel front camera They are more than enough for lovers of selfies or making quality video calls, the incorporation of a front LED flash is surprising, which we will put to good use in these last mentioned situations.

The conclusions are that the Honor 7 is an excellent terminal with very good features that has nothing to envy to other high-end. And having a competitive price of € 340, make it a very attractive option.
