How to connect a Canon PowerShot or IXUS Wi-Fi camera to a smartphone

Thanks to this connection, you can send the photos you take with a Canon camera with Wi-Fi to your mobile device, and from there share them on social networks, send them by email or any other action you can do from your mobile.

The same method will work for you to connect your Canon Wi-Fi camera with a tablet. Next, we break down the connection process step by step.

Connect a Canon Wi-Fi Camera to a Mobile Device

# 1 - Connect Canon Wi-Fi Camera to your mobile device. Keep in mind that, before using your smartphone or tablet, you must configure the connection for the first time.

# 2 - Find the Canon CW (Canon Camera Window) app in your device's app store and install it.

# 3 - Turn on the camera, select the connection icon of your mobile device in the Wi-fi menu and press the option «Add a device».

# 4 - Connect your mobile device with the Wi-Fi network generated by the Canon camera.

# 5 - Launch the Camera Window application on your mobile device.

# 6 - Select your mobile device in the list and check the option «Yes» (Yes) to control the camera and see all the images from your mobile or tablet.

It is done. You will not have to repeat the connection, since once you have configured the devices they will remember the data.

Send photos from a Canon Wi-Fi camera to a mobile device

From now on, you will only have to select the connection icon with the mobile device on the camera, search for your device and start the application on the device.

To save images from the camera to your mobile device, just press "Send this image" on the camera.

On your mobile device you will also be able to see all the camera images by selecting the option "View images on camera".
