If we have purchased an iPad and at a certain time on it, a large number of applications have been installed, configured our accounts for personal (or business) use and also, we have synchronized the mobile device with iCloud, The most logical thing to do is that we eliminate all this information so that no one else can see it.
The process is not as simple as what we could be doing on a Windows computer, that is, in that operating system you would only have to choose the hard drive, format it and later reinstall everything again but without personal credentials. On the iPad you have to resort to a series of steps and processes so that they do not leave any trace, of our personal information and thus, we can sell it calmly and confidently. In this article we will mention through a series of sequential steps what you must do to achieve this goal.
Help deleting credentials from iPad settings
Many people do not know this, but what you really have to do is have to remove primarily access credentials towards the different services, something that we surely did on the iPad (or iPhone). When we get to delete or deactivate the previously configured credentials, we will have the possibility to delete all information and thus, return to a "factory state" for our mobile device. We suggest you follow the following sequential steps so that you can have a completely clean iPad, something very similar to what you got when you bought it from the store:
Step 1:
The first step is to log in or access the work environment of our iPad, which means that we must turn it on and dis lock the screen using the pin code. Once we are on the Home Screen, we must choose the "settings" or "settings" icon.
Once there we will have to head towards the following route:
Settings -> iCloud -> Find my iPad
When we select this button, we will be asked to enter the identification code (Apple ID) to deactivate said service.
Step 2:
Once we have proceeded with the previous step, we must continue working in this area of the iPad settings:
Settings -> iCloud
Located in said area we must go towards the final part of the area shown towards the right side; there we just have to touch the red button that says "log out". In versions of iOS 7 this option could say "Delete Account".
Step 3:
As a third step, we must suspend or eliminate and deactivate the "messages" and "Apple ID" services, following these steps:
- Settings -> Messages -> iMessage (here we must touch the button on the right to deactivate the service)
- Settings -> iTunes Store and App Store (Here instead we must touch the link where our Apple ID appears)
In the first case, the small switch will change from green to white and in the second, a pop-up window will appear where we must choose the option that says "close session"; Additionally, we could search our social networks (such as Facebook or Twitter) to close the session of each of these accounts.
Step 4:
This becomes the most important step in the entire process, and must be careful and be sure of what we are going to do, Well, from here all the information that has been registered on the iPad will be deleted:
Settings -> General -> Reset -> Clear content and settings
When you get to this last button, the pop-up window will immediately appear where we will have to write the access pin code (the one that unlocks the screen); After confirming this pin, a window will appear where we are asked to confirm the action, that is, deleting all data from iPad.
Once we have proceeded in such a way, there should be no trace of our information or credentials towards the different services within the iPad. The method can be applied without major problem on an iPhone although, certain functions could vary depending on each version of iOS present there.
