How to put country flags on Twitter / hashflags

hashtags

Today the Brazil Soccer World Cup begins, it's hard to meet someone who hasn't found out yet. Just yesterday we told you how you can add all the World Cup matches to your agenda, to be able to follow our country or the matches that are most interesting to us.

A couple of days ago Twitter enabled this possibility adding added value to tweets. To make the announcement, Twitter has hired the singer Shakira in which, through her tweet, she shows the result of how the tweets will be accompanied by the flags of the countries participating in the World Cup in Brazil.

In order to add the flags to your tweets we just have to write # and the first three initials of the country. For example #ESP for Spain, #BRA for Brazil, #FRA for France, #COL for Colombia and so on for the rest of the countries. If you write the tweets directly from your computer, the flags will appear immediately.

On the other hand, if you write the tweets from the application of your mobile, either Android, iOS or Windows Phone, they probably won't show up right away. It is not a problem with the application, but rather that Twitter is enabling the service so that it is also available on mobile devices, which is really where most of the tweets are written from.

This system of adding added value to tweets from Twitter was first used during the World Cup in South Africa four years ago, and that we all remember for being the first soccer World Cup won by the Spanish team. Who will win the World Cup this year? Does anyone dare?
