This may seem a priori a complicated or difficult task to carry out, it is simpler than you think and today we are going to see how to remove Internet Explorer from the different versions that are available.
It is true that there are users today who continue to use this browser and we do not mean that it is a bad browser far from itIt is one more and it is totally legal to uninstall it in cases where we do not use them, as we can do with other browsers when we get tired of them.
Removing Internet Explorer 11
To do this we have to follow a series of steps that are not complicated at all, but it is important to follow in order so as not to make mistakes. The steps are simple but require administrator permissions, now we can continue with the elimination process:
- Click on Windows Search and type Windows Features
- Now we select Enable or disable Windows features (with administrator permissions)
- Now we simply have to uncheck a box that says Internet Explorer 11
Once the last step is done, it will appear a warning message which explains that removing Internet Explorer 11 could affect the operation of other programs and features of the Windows operating system, including default settings or the like. We know and we are clear that we do not want to occupy space on our disk with Internet Explorer, so we will have to click on Yes > Accept and ready.
Once we uninstall Internet Explorer 11 from our computer, Windows would ask us to restart the computer, so we do it and once we enter again. we will not have this browser installed on our PC.
Remove Internet Explorer 10
The steps are quite similar to the version explained above. We have to access the system settings and for this we will click on the button Start> Programs and Features and press Enter. Now we follow the following steps:
- We have to click on See installed updates
- Now we have to go to the Microsoft Windows section and access Windows Internet Explorer 10
- Click on Uninstall and confirm with Yes
As in the version of Internet Explorer 11, it will ask us to restart the computer. Once the restart is done, we will simply no longer have this browser installed on our machine and we will enjoy a little more free space on our disk.
Steps to remove Internet Explorer 9 and Internet Explorer 8 are exactly the same as above. So it is not necessary to explain the same process again. All those who want to remove these two browsers from their PC must directly follow the same ones available to remove Internet Explorer 10
Uninstall Internet Explorer 7
For this much older version, the steps do change a bit compared to the rest. All this is the same or simpler but it is good that someone who still has this browser installed confirms the steps for us, since these are steps that we have taken from the network and we have not been able to verify that they work. So if any of you have Internet Explorer 7 installed and want to confirm the uninstallation steps, that would be perfect. Now let's go with the process:
- The first thing we are going to do is click on Start> Control Panel
- Once here we have to go to Add or remove programs
- Click on Internet Explorer and then on Delete - Remove
Now, as we have done on previous occasions, it will be time to restart the PC so that the process can be carried out without further ado. Once we have the computer restarted already we will not see Internet Explorer 7 again on the computer so we are left without this browser. All this always bearing in mind that we need another browser to be able to use the computer, so install the one you like the most first and then perform the Explorer removal.
It is true that the latest versions of this browser are working somewhat better than previous versions have worked, now they consume fewer resources, are somewhat faster and navigation is done more productively in general, but we do not have the least doubt that few are the users who are using Explorer today, either because of the habit of using other browsers that they have had previously, because of some of the options that they offer us with favorites or data synchronization with email accounts such as Gmail or simply because they don't like Internet Explorer. We are sure that the vast majority of users we know today have not used or do not use this default browser on all Windows computers, even with the amount of improvements they can have today.
The alternatives you use to replace Internet Explorer as your native browser is now up to you, you currently have Opera, Google Chrome, Firefox and other available browsers, so the choice of it is on your own.
