Huawei P40 Lite, the new mid-range of the Asian company

Huawei P40 Lite

Huawei is currently making a lot of announcements, but this time it is a launch that will be carried out for the first time for the Spanish market. It is the smallest of the new batch of P series terminals. The Huawei P40 Lite, a terminal Midrange that despite its name, it brings some very great characteristics.

Although as I say it is the most basic of the P family, Huawei includes it as top of the range aimed at the mid-range. It works with a processor manufactured by Huawei as we are used to for a few years, with EMUI 10 and its new app store.

A youthful and colorful design shape the P40 Lite

The design of this P40 Lite is not too far from what we have been seeing in the entire range of smartphones of the Asian brand, making use of some colors as attractive as they are striking, as it has been doing since the launch of the Mate 20.

The color presented is a green with very bright and striking finishes, a color that will attract a lot of attention from the younger public. We meet a front chaired by a 6,4-inch screen IPS, with tight screen bezels and the selfie camera located in a hole in the upper left corner. The technology chosen for this screen is IPS, wanting to distinguish himself from his older brothers.

For the rear we find a square camera module with rounded edges, moved to one side as the P range usually does, thus differentiating itself from the Mate. Integrates the four cameras and it stands out a lot, being just below the flash and the inscription that indicates that there are four lenses and the intervention of artificial intelligence.

It is not a small terminal, since we are facing dimensions of 159mm high, 76mm wide, 8,7mm thick and a total weight of 183gr. At the bottom we find the USB type C charging port, how can it be otherwise in 2020 and a headphone input, something that seems to be exclusively for the most humble ranges today.

On the edge of the terminal we find the typical volume buttons and the power button, which in addition to committing this function integrates the fingerprint sensor, in order to leave the back clean and achieve a more successful design.

Four cameras without telephoto

Camera module

The photographic section is one of the most striking according to the company. It has a 48 Mpx main sensor, which is also used to carry out zoom cropping since we don't have a telephoto as such. The second sensor is an 8 Mpx wide angle and then we have two 2 Mpx sensors, one to obtain data for the photos with blur and the last one for the macro photography.

A generous 40W fast charging battery

This is where this terminal mainly stands out above all the competition in its range, the battery is 4200mAh, a fairly generous amperage, especially considering that it is a very efficient hardware. But where do we see a quality that we only see in the high range, it is in its fast charge, it is 40W, Not only is it superior to all of its competition in the mid-range, it is also superior to much of the high-end.

Price and Availability

This model arrives in Spain with a single variant, of 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB internal memory. The price is $299. If we reserve it between March 2 and 16, they will give us a Freebuds 3 wireless headphones that we already analyzed HERE and a screen saver.
