If you want to follow the presentation of the new Huawei P40 Pro live with us, you just have to keep your eyes wide open and we are going to tell you everything that these new high-end products from the Asian company are presenting today. As is usually normal in the company, with the P40 series we will discover the new advances in the camera and power of a terminal that will surely be positioned at the top of all the rankings. This is the new Huawei P40 Pro and P40 Pro +, its price, its features and everything you need to know about the terminals.

The cameras as protagonists

We are going to find essentially three different camera modules depending on the edition of the Huawei P40 that we acquire:

  • P40: RYYB 50MP sensor, f / 1.9 - UGA 16MP f / 2.2 - Telephoto with 3x zoom
  • P40Pro: RYYB 50MP sensor, f / 1.9 - UGA 40MP f / 1.8 - 8MP telephoto with 5x zoom and ToF
  • P40 Pro +: RYYB 50MP sensor, f / 1.9 - UGA 40MP f / 1.8 - 8MP telephoto with 3x zoom, 10x telephoto and ToF

Huawei P40

We start with the smallest of the P40 Series family, this product offers us a processor Kirin 990 and the Mali-G76 GPU of proven power. We are surprised that they choose 8GB of RAM, yes, we have some generous 128GB of storage to the entry model. We highlight the aforementioned cameras: Sensor (RYYB) 50 MP (1 / 1,28 ″) f / 1.9 - Ultra wide angle 16 MP f / 2.2, 17 mm - Telephoto 8 MP (RYYB) f / 2.4 (3x zoom) and OIS + AIS.

For front camera we have an IR sensor and 32MP that will provide a very good definition and image quality. As for the battery, we are going to find 3.800 mAh, fast charging above 40W patented by Huawei and more details such as the fingerprint reader on the screen, accompanied, as we have said before, by its facial scanner.

As for the screen we will enjoy a panel 6,1 OLED at FullHD + resolution where we will find a refresh rate of 60Hz, something that has surprised us considering the current trends that the market is taking in this regard. We went on to IP53 resistance, minimal resistance to dust and splashes compared to its older brothers that certify IP68. A lot of ambition in this device that eIt will be on sale next April 7 for around 799 euros depending on the selected point of sale.

Huawei P40 Pro

On a technical level we find few differences between the P40 Pro and the P40, but we must look at some subtle details. The first is that the screen is larger, it grows to 6,58 ″ of its OLED panel with FullHD + resolution, but this time we did find a 90Hz refresh rate that will delight users without a doubt. We then repeat the Kirin 990 and Mali-G76 GPU with 8GB of RAM which exactly matches all three models. Where we also grow is in storage memory where we go to 256GB of input storage, which is not bad for the user.

The cameras advance with one more sensor: RYYB sensor 50 MP, f / 1.9, (1 / 1,28 ″) - Ultra wide angle 40 MP, f / 1.8 - 8 MP telephoto (RYYB) 5x optical zoom - Depth and OIS + AIS. For the lead we have 32MP under the same conditions, with an IR sensor for the facial scanner that will increase the security of the device. This will obviously be accompanied by the fingerprint sensor on the screen that the Asian firm has been mounting for a long time and that has offered such good results. At the resistance level, we advance to IP68 against water without any problems.

We do have a 4.200 mAh battery with Huawei's certified fast charge so that we can get the most out of it. Regarding connectivity, it should be noted that we have WiFi 6 Plus, NFC, Bluetooth, GPS, DualSIM and the most spectacular, 5G connectivity in all the devices. It is clear that Huawei embraces a telecommunications technology that it is pioneering in many respects. We do not have official prices or release dates yet, what we have is the possibility to choose between four colors: Gray, Breathing White, Black and Gold, as well as a ceramic finish that will be exclusive to the highest model of the range.

Huawei P40 Pro +

We are now going to the most "top" terminal and destined to be the leader of the Android smartphone in the market. The main difference is that this time we have 12 GB memory RAM, yes, we repeat the Kirin 990 and the Mali-G76 GPU from the previous models. Regarding total storage, we also close with the 256GB and the expansion of memory owned by the Asian company. Few more differences, and in terms of battery we have 4.200 mAh and fast charging the same than his "younger" brother.

The camera is the main point of difference: RYYB sensor 50 MP, f / 1.9 (1 / 1,28 ″) - Ultra wide angle 40 MP, f / 1.8 - 8 MP telephoto (RYYB) 3x optical zoom - 8 MP telephoto 10x optical zoom - Depth and OIS + AIS. This promises us a hybrid zoom of up to 100x that is offering results in first impressions above those offered by the competition. In the front camera we repeat the 32MP with facial recognition sensor that will accompany the on-screen fingerprint sensor, so we don't have much news in this regard. We are also surprised that the screen is identical to that of the Huawei P40 Pro in numerical terms with its panel 6,58 ″ OLED at FullHD + resolution and 90Hz refresh rate.

Differences between P40, P40 Pro and P40 Pro +

The main differences lie in the camera, each one will have one more sensor, from 3 on the P40 to 5 on the P40 Pro +. It should be noted that the P40 Pro + will be built in ceramic and will only have two basic colors, white and black, which are exclusive, as well as the fact that it has 12GB of RAM which is 4GB more than the previous models mentioned. We will keep you informed and we will bring you the review soon.
