Huawei P60 Pro, returns to the charge at the top of the market

Huawei P60 Pro - 1

We have had access to the new range of Huawei P60 Pro devices, a device that will stand up to two brands whose innovation ships seem stranded on the open sea, both in terms of photography and performance, such as Samsung and Apple.

We tell you what our first impressions have been with the new Huawei P60 Pro, that we have been able to analyze with a select group of media at the Huawei offices in Spain. This being the case, delve with us into the return in style of a firm that never quite left.

Huawei maintained its position as a company in the elite of mobile telephony, allowing itself to launch devices that looked face to face with the iPhone and the Galaxy of the day without absolutely envying them. This has continued to happen, but sales fell sharply because of an (unfair) embargo that the United States launched on the software that powered these devices, Android.

Design: Recognizable and quality

This new Huawei P60 Pro will be launched in two variants, one in matte black with an anti-fingerprint coating whose performance is excellent, as we have been able to verify, and a "marbled" version with a very special character that we will talk about on the day of the Deep analysis.

Huawei P60 Pro - Side

  • Size: 161 x 74.5 x 8.3 mm
  • Weight: 200 grams
  • IP68 resistance

The camera module has been an important innovation, allowing Huawei to clearly differentiate its models, something daring and at the same time not surprising given the risks that the Asian firm usually takes with its devices. In short, it feels well made, it feels of total and absolute quality.

Hardware: Nothing remains in the inkwell

At the hardware level, Huawei has not wanted to skimp. we have a Qualcomm Latest generation Snapdragon 8+, yes, limited to 4G communication technologies for the Spanish market, although we are waiting to confirm this term since we use test software based on HarmonyOS.

We also have 12GB of LPDDR4S RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, one of the fastest on the market, in two variants: 256GB and 512GB respectively. The battery, with a fast charge of 88W, has a total capacity of 4.815 mAh which it shares with the non-"Pro" version of the device, and in turn has 50W wireless charging.

As for connectivity, despite the wireless limitations of 5G, it does have WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, USB-C 3.2, NFC and GPS.

At the security level, we have a fingerprint reader integrated into the screen that has proven to work exceptionally well.

Multimedia: The real balance.

In this sense, we once again recognize the work of Huawei, despite the fact that those of you who know me know well that I am not a lover of curved panels, in this case Huawei has integrated it supremely well on the screen. We have a 6,67-inch OLED panel in total, with a 1220 x 2700 resolution and an adaptive screen refresh that reaches 120Hz.

Huawei P60 Pro - Display

This is accompanied by an integrated speaker behind it, which allows us to enjoy the stereo sound to which we are accustomed. We still do not have specific data on brightness, HDR certifications and other details, but soon we will let you know in the in-depth review of the device.

Camera: Hunting for the true elite

What can I tell you about the high-end cameras that Huawei mounts? In this case, they have opted for a main sensor of 48MP with variable aperture (f/1.4 to f/4.0), accompanied by optical stabilizer and type RYYB.

The second sensor is a 13MP Ultra Wide Angle, also RYYB type and with f/2.1 aperture.

Finally, we have a periscopic sensor of another 48MP, which Huawei claims to be the best telephoto lens, even in dark conditions. East (also RYYB) allows 3,5 optical increases and a digital zoom of up to 200 increases, a record to date.

Soon we will be able to give you specific details of both the launch date and the final price of the device, stay tuned.
