The main difference between the queen platforms available in the mobile phone market, iOS and Android, have very different adoption rates. While iOS 10, the latest version of Apple's mobile operating system is found on 76% of supported devices, the latest version of Android 7.x Nougat, which hit the market in its final version before the release of iOS 10 , has barely exceeded 5% adoption. Most of the blame is on manufacturers who take their time adapting their customization layers to the latest versions of Android. But it is not the only one.
Apple designs its operating system to some specific components and with which iOS works perfectly, while Android is designed to be compatible with a large number of screens, processors, graphics ... and all this has to go hand in hand with the manufacturers of the components that have to launch the corresponding drivers so that Android is compatible and can run smoothly. The guys from Cupertino have just updated the adoption figures for iOS 10, in which we can see like 3 out of 4 compatible devices and they have adopted this latest version of iOS.
Apple has managed to reach this figure 4 months after its launch, but it is not the only Apple operating system that continues to be present on the company's mobile devices. Without going any further, iOS 9 is still available on 18% of supported devices, while the previous version, iOS 8, is still available on 6% of devices. It should be remembered that iOS 10 has left a large number of devices out of this update, such as the iPhone 4s, the 5th generation iPod touch, the iPad 2, 3 and 4 along with the iPad Mini.
