The iPhone 8 will eliminate the Home button and the integrated fingerprint sensor

When there are still 5 months left for the Cupertino guys to officially present what will be the tenth anniversary of the iPhone, many are the rumors that are continually coming to light from different sources. On the one hand we find the typical rumors that come from the alleged assembly lines for a terminal that will not reach production for a few months. On the other hand we have the predictions that analysts make. Ming-Chi Kuo is one of the analysts who has a high success rate when he talks about the next models that Apple will launch on the market, although, it must be said, sometimes he is also wrong and by far.

iPhone 8 without Touch ID

According to this analyst, the next iPhone 8 will be the special edition of the company's flagship product. A terminal that will offer us a screen ratio of almost 90%. The iPhone 8 would have a 5,8-inch screen curved on both sides, which would practically allow to offer a larger terminal in a device of the same dimensions as the 4,7-inch iPhone. But of the 5,8 inches, only 5,15 would be useful, discounting the sides and the bottom of the screen, dedicated to certain system functions. The lack of Touch ID would force Apple to integrate the rumored iris scanner (like the Galaxy Note 7), which according to some experts, offers much more security than the fingerprint.

It seems that Apple would do the same as Sony on the Xperia Z models, using part of the lower screen to provide shortcuts to system buttons instead of setting them out of it. At first it is quite annoying that you cannot press directly on the physical or tactile buttons because you do not have them in sight, but as a user of a Z3, at the end you get used to it, but I have to admit that it is not easy. The Home button on the iPhone continues to be essential in the day to day of our iPhone, especially when we have to restart our device because it has been blocked, it does not respond ... so its disappearance could force Apple to add a new button on the device or change the change the key combination required to restart the terminal.
