In our hands dFlow Soul, the Spanish speaker that has come to stay

Audio without limits is increasingly present in our livesIn fact, having wireless speakers scattered throughout the house has become the most efficient way to accompany us on a day-to-day basis. The guys from dFlow have been able to grasp this well, a Spanish brand that knows the market that has wanted to provide quality and democratize a product that is often too expensive.

Por eso we have in our hands the dFlow Soul, a 360º speaker that offers good sound and first-class features at an enormously affordable price.… Is it really what it seems despite the price? That is what we want to discover you, its capabilities and characteristics to see if it is really worth it.

Before proceeding with the analysis, it is important to note that to find a speaker with similar characteristics we must look at budgets above one hundred euros, and that is that despite similar designs being offered at ridiculous prices in places like Amazon, the quality of the Audio and added components are hardly going to make it look alike in more than form. So it seems that We are facing a rival for JBL or for example Ultimate Ears and its Boom 2 range.

Technical characteristics: Impossible more in less space

Needless to say, we stand before a loudspeaker Bluetooth, this time with version 4.1 to offer stability, distance and above all low consumption. The Bluetooth profile that takes advantage of to give audio quality is the well-known Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP), so we have a reception distance of approximately 10 meters. We have found that it works efficiently over ten meters if we have few obstacles.

The drivers are the most important, we have two 5W drivers that offer a total power of 10W, To give you an idea, the Ultimate Ears Wonderboom is offering 8,5W. And with its cylindrical shape and these drivers is how it intends to offer us 360º sound, no matter where you are, the music will reach you in the best of conditions, and not only that, having this capacity will allow you to place it almost wherever you want.

  • Bluetooth 4.1
  • A2DP support
  • 10m range
  • 10W power (2x 5w)
  • Control touch panel
  • NFC chip
  • 360º sound
  • 2.000 mAh battery (8h of playback)

The battery is 2.000 mAh, which theoretically assures us eight hours of autonomy in reproduction, but that will depend on the power and quality of the broadcast signal. On the other hand, the full charge time is one of the first negative points that I have found, it will easily take us three hours or more. Meanwhile, the device is surrounded by a nylon braid that ensures durability and cleanliness.

Design: Thought so that you only care about the audio

Its cylindrical shape offers 174x72x72mm for a weight of 456 grams. Without being entirely light, it is not heavy considering everything that it houses inside. It is discreet, and the fact that it is located vertically accompanies and a lot to be able to place it where we want. It is built in rubberized plastic for the lower part, while in the upper part we will find the touch panel in the center surrounded by a crown that will allow us to alter the volume just by sliding it, a more than successful volume management system. For it It has a slight unevenness on the front that will allow us to place it in the most comfortable direction to be able to use its controls.

At the bottom we have the stamps and the ON / OFF button while on the back we have a rubber plate to connect the auxiliary minijack output and the microUSB input to charge Of the device. It would have been literally spectacular if they had chosen to include a USB-C connection, although the microUSB is still much more widespread and has been a continuous commitment to efficiency and the most well known.

Sound quality: They manage not to fall into the shrillness of the increased bass

What's the easiest way to highlight a product that offers poor audio quality? Highly enhance the bass, so you will stop focusing on the frequencies that are more difficult to maintain within quality standards. If what you want is to hear it rumble, you are going to have to work with the equalizer, this dFlow Soul lets you hear music with clarity and quality far beyond just masking bass, there is no clearer way to say, "here's my sound product." It should be noted that it has NFC, which ensures a fast connection with Android devices.

  • Treble: The treble is correctly balanced, the sound is generally clean and we do not find any leakage or typical dirt even with the volume turned up.
  • Serious: Accustomed to the treble boost in almost all audio products, when starting this dFlow Soul for the first time it seems that we are throwing something in easy. In fact, they are kind of limited. But no, if we bet on equalizing or looking for music with really good bass - not suitable for reggaeton - we see how they come out without the need to lose all the surrounding audio.
  • Media: They are natural and have enough power without loss of quality, it defends itself quite well.

Without a doubt we are not facing the best sound on the market, perhaps a pre-equalization work integrated into the device would make it comfortable for more different ears. The reality however is that sounds good in almost all circumstances, something that gives the least faith of a job well done.

Editor's opinion

You will have verified that in Actualidad Gadget We continually test Hi-Fi audio products of all kinds, from Sonos to Energy Sistem. That has allowed me be skeptical of audio products below certain prices, especially when they have so much detail -NFC, touch panel, LED ... etc-. However, for the first time in a long time it seems that we are looking at a product that is much more than audio marketing.

Although it is true that it is not in the top audio for the products of its range, it is noted that behind this dFlow Soul it has a lot of work behind it, the difference is also not so great as to justify that its competitors, having much fewer functions , cost at least double. That is why if your budget is around 49 euros it costs, I challenge you to find a product that offers more for so little. To get hold of it you can go through its own website
