Telework It is here to stay and it is penetrating our way of seeing things, so much so that many of us have definitely chosen to set up a small office in our home and we have realized how important gadgets are in our day-to-day lives.
Jabra He is an expert in providing sound and video conferencing products for all types of users and this time we are going to focus on a fairly versatile product. TOWe take an in-depth look at the Jabra Elite 45h over-ear headphones, ideal for teleworking with a fairly premium experience, discover them with us.
Materials and design
As you already know, Jabra is a firm that uses to manufacture products with a fairly high quality standard, it is exactly the same experience that we find with these Jabra 45h. Regarding packaging, the company always bets on minimalism and a fairly industrial unboxing system that tells us practically nothing. The first thing that surprises us when taking them out of the box is their extreme lightness and how well built they feel, these characteristics accompany them throughout daily use. A good millimeter adjustment system without creaking and with over-ear earmuffs that hardly tighten.
- Size: 186 * 157 * 60,5 mm
- Weight: 160 grams
- Available colors: Black, Black + Copper, Beige, Blue, Brown, Black + Space Gray
It has a lot to do with it the fact that the headset is made of synthetic leather and the padding is memory foam, with the indicative «L» and «R» drilled directly into them. We have a total weight of only 160 grams, something surprising, accompanied by quite restrained dimensions. Of course, the box brings a USB-C cable that will be used to charge the device and is barely 30 centimeters long, which has left us a bittersweet feeling considering that the headphones themselves are almost 20 centimeters long in total.
We go directly to each of the speakers, both the right and the left have a diameter of 40 millimeters, which is not bad at all. Both have a coating against wind noise that will help us to have conversations and listen to music correctly even outside, something that we have verified works correctly. The same happens with noise in calls, has two microphones in charge to improve the performance of our voice and thus make sure that the receiver hears correctly everything that we want to emit.
- Music speaker bandwidth: 20 Hz to 20 kHz
- Talking speaker bandwidth: 100 Hz to 8000 Hz
- Two MEMS microphones
- Bluetooth with two simultaneous pairings
Surprisingly, and unlike other brands, the firm ensures that the device has a two-year warranty in front of water and dust on their website, something that has pleasantly surprised me. In this section little can be technically required of the Jabra 45h that are constructed of high-strength materials such as adonized aluminum and silicone with non-stick oil. The reality is that daily use is appreciated for the extra resistance that all this provides.
Connectivity and autonomy
Connectivity will be based on Bluetooth 5.0 in this case, with all the necessary certifications for this purpose. Bluetooth profiles are important when listening to music and here we find ourselves as a great absentee to Qualcomm's apt codec, However, we have available the typical ones from Apple and the rest of the companies: HSP v1.2, HFP v1.7, A2DP v1.3, AVRCP v1.6, PBAP v1.1, SPP v1.2.
- Dedicated button to invoke Alexa, Siri, Bixby or Google Assistant.
With regards to autonomy, We do not have the technical data at the level of battery capacity in mAh. Meanwhile, the firm promises us up to 50 hours of music, something that we have been able to verify that is quite close to the real performance of the headphones. It should be noted that the USB-C port has a kind of "fast charge" that will allow us 10 hours of autonomy with 15 minutes of charging, although considering that the total charge time with a 5W USB-C adapter is 1 hour and 30 minutes, it seems more like the standard charge. They have a "sleep mode" that will be activated automatically to improve battery performance when we are not using them and automatic shutdown after 24 hours without use.
Sound quality and user experience
As is often the case with Shure products, we find ourselves with a fairly well-tuned headset. The bass does not stand out excessively and we can differentiate all kinds of tones, yes, it is worth mentioning that we cannot demand more than other headphones in its price range. In fact, the passive noise cancellation capacity of the headphones is quite surprising considering that they are "over-ear" and do not completely enclose our ear.
The microphones work extremely well for long conversations, in addition, they isolate outside noise that can interrupt or disturb phone calls. These headphones have an extremely light weight and a brutal autonomy that quickly leads us to think that they can be a great option when we talk about teleworking. or spending long hours in the office without fear of taking a call. They do not cause fatigue neither in the ears nor in the head due to the weight and their materials are quite neutral and resistant, something that I think I should highlight in this analysis.
As we have said before, if you want to flee from TWS headphones when teleworking or spending good office days without giving up phone calls, these Jabra Elite 45h are an extremely interesting offer in a competitive price range. You can buy them for less than 99 euros at regular outlets like Amazon. I can't help but remember that we don't have aptX and we could miss them, as well as the fact that for some reason that I do not fully understand they have decided to do without a 3,5mm Jack port for a more traditional connection.
