The Moto Z2 Play is official and adds the MotoMods

When we talk about Motorola, the Moto G series and its success come to mind, but in addition to this range of entry products, other Motorola devices that continue to be a success despite being somewhat more expensive should be noted. The case of the Moto Z Play is undoubtedly the model that has sold the most after the mentioned Moto G, the fact is that this time we already have the new model that bears the surname Z Play and what does it add to MotoMods?

What we can highlight at first glance is that the device has a somewhat renewed design compared to the previous model, it is somewhat thinner, not much so as not to affect its operation, but if we lose some battery capacity remaining at 3000 mAh (3510 mAh the previous model) because of that extra thinness that is added in this Moto Z2 Play. In addition to being a little thinner and with less battery than the previous version, the smartphone is practically the same as its predecessor with its unibody design and the fingerprint sensor on the front, it also adds a 5,5-inch Super AMOLED screen and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 2,2 GHz processor together with Adreno 506 GPU.

The rest of the most outstanding specifications are obviously its thinnest measurements and lower weight: 5,99 mm thick 145 g, 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of internal storage expandable via microsSD and the device cameras. In this case we have as main a sensor of 12 megapixels with Dual Pixel technology and as a front a camera with 5 mp an aperture f / 2.0.

The MotoMods

These MotoMods already exist for the current model but in this case we are facing some changes for the new version of the device, adding in the case of the speaker the second version of the JBL that was so popular in the first generation. These are the new MotoMods:

  • JBL SoundBost 2 speaker
  • TurboPower
  • The GamePad
  • Wireless charging case

In short, a device that has been officially announced in Brazil with a price of $ 499 in the United States, so we can think that the price will stay at 499 euros when it reaches the rest of Europe.
