The NBA has presented My Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA, a new free app designed to become the digital hub of your international youth basketball programs. The platform was born with a fairly clear idea: to bring together in one place everything that players, coaches, referees, families, competition managers and organizers need to make the experience simpler, more organized and accessible.
The move makes sense. Youth basketball isn't just about what happens on the court. It also requires well-managed schedules, clear registration processes, consistent communication with families, up-to-date results, and easy access to information about each competition. Until now, many of these tasks could be spread across emails, messaging groups, scattered documents, and separate platforms. My Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA aims to reduce that clutter and make the organization more seamless.
The app will serve as the primary digital destination for the Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA programs in more than 190 countries and territories in Africa, Asia-Pacific, Canada, Europe and the Middle East, India and Latin America. Furthermore, it is designed to work in multiple languages, display content based on the user's location, and offer access from both mobile and web devices.
Among its most important features is competition management. Operators will be able to manage schedules, standings, results, tournament brackets, statistics, play-by-play commentary, and multimedia galleries from a single platform. Live match streaming is also included, a particularly useful tool for families who can't always attend every game.
The application also includes a registration center to simplify registrations, authorizations, and participant tracking. In addition, there are communication tools to send direct updates to players, parents, coaches, referees and organizers, as well as a section dedicated to Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA events and activities.
Beyond the technological aspect, the app reinforces the program's purpose: to teach basketball from the ground up, but also values such as teamwork, respect, determination, and community. The Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA curriculum has recently been updated with a more game-based approach, over 100 new or updated activities, and 48 training plans.
In 2025, the program reached more than 41 million young people, Parents, referees, and coaches in 193 countries and territories outside the United States. With this new app, the NBA aims to expand this entire network with a clearer structure and a more connected experience.
