Cam IQ Features
As soon as you install your app (available for both iOS and Android) we have at our disposal an interesting number of options. Can watch video in real time, listen to the audio or even speak into the speaker the camera remotely. Also if we are subscribed to the system Nest Aware We will have access to the recording history in the cloud, configuration of activity zones and notices of recognized faces.
The camera sends us an alert to the mobile phone or to the mail, warning each time it detects any movement or sound, being able to see in a few seconds if it is a real threat or a false alarm. It also allows you to configure that the camera recognizes whether you are in the house or not through the mobile's GPS so that you can configure it to deactivate the camera when you are at home and thus prevent it from continuously warning you of each detection. If you want, instead of doing it automatically with the mobile's GPS, you can also configure it with a certain time or even manually indicate to the app each time you leave and enter the house, but these options seem much more inconvenient to use.
Every time it detects a new person we can indicate in the app if it is a known person or not; so later when the camera detects the same person it will indicate that it is someone we know. This option works a lot although you can make some mistakes when the same person is with or without glasses, with different types of hairstyle, etc. But you just mark both photos as a known person and there is no major problem.
As a negative point, the app it is not as fluid as one could wish. This is probably due to the fact that the need for bandwidth when transmitting video in real time saturates the system, so that to go from one menu to another we will have to wait longer than desired.
Install and configure Nest Cam IQ
The first point that we have to choose as soon as we take out the camera is where to put it. The normal thing is usually in the main hall so that you can monitor the entrance door and access to the rooms. The camera no battery so we have to choose a flat place with access to a plug; although this is not a major problem as the cable is very long.
La camera setup is very simple thanks to the Nest app; you just have to add device, scan the QR code coming out at the bottom of the camera and wait a few seconds. Later it will ask us for the Wifi access data to be able to broadcast video in streaming and with this everything is ready. As you can see, it is only a few minutes and it is within the reach of users less expert with technology.
Once we have the camera up and running, we just have to configure it to our liking with all the available options: face recognition, alert notifications, option to detect if we are in the house or not, etc.

Nest Aware is a subscription system through which we can expand the functionalities of our Nest camera. The options it offers us are:

A design that conveys quality
The first thing we see as soon as we touch the Nest Cam box is that we are facing a product where transmitting a quality image is an important point. Both the design of the indoor camera and the rest of the elements (charging cable, connectors and the packaging itself) is made taking care of every last detail. The materials are high quality and very pleasant to the touch. The camera design is minimalist and with a pure white color that makes it fit into any type of home without clashing.
Its weight is quite high, but this is not a problem but an advantage since it is an element that does not usually move very often and that weight gives it great stability that prevents it from falling with any blow.
In short, the Nest Cam IQ camera is a good option to have a surveillance system in the home in a simple and easy way to assemble. Its operation is very simple and allows us to control the security of our home from the mobile.
