Netflix raises prices again, this time with immediate effect

The North American company came to revolutionize the way we consume movies, series and documentaries. It has offered us great productions such as Stranger Things, The Irishman or The Squid Game, however, lately they have opted for a price escalation that is difficult to understand for most users.

The new Netflix price increase will affect the whole of Europe with around a 12% increase, and it will be immediately, affecting the current month's share. In this way, Netflix seems to anticipate the launch of HBO Max in order to mitigate the possible flight of users as much as possible.

The brand seems to establish itself in bi-annual increases, that is, every two years during these dates they choose to make a price increase that does not seem to have an end. It begins, of course, to make a dent among users, especially those who once paid less than twelve euros for the Premium subscription that allows four users to enjoy 4K Dolby Atmos content simultaneously. In this way, the only rate that has not involved a jump is the basic one, which executes resolutions below HD resolution (DVD quality) and only allows one user at the same time. These are the new prices:

  • Fair Basic > Without HD and with a user> 7,99 euros (price remains)
  • Fair Standard > With HD and two users> it goes from 11,99 euros to 12,99 euros per month
  • Fair Premium > With 4K and four users> Go from 15,99 to 17,99 euros per month

The reality is that users know that Netflix's 4K HDR is far from a true 4K and the problems of viewing with inefficient resolutions have been more and more noticeable for about a year. However, far from solving these problems, Netflix decides to increase its rates again, does it have something to do with the launch of HBO Max? Starting next October 18, users will make the payment with the updated rate.
