New Huawei MateBook D range and new FreeBuds 3 headphones in red

We were in the «roundup» of news that the Asian firm has prepared for us during this year 2020 and there are not few. We start the year with Huawei renewing its portfolio of laptops with the MateBook D14 and MateBook D15, as well as a special "Valentine's Day" edition of its FreeBuds 3. In addition, Huawei has left us a bombshell, and it is that during the Mobile World Congress that will be held in February in Barcelona they are going to launch a new smartphone that will leave us all speechless, what will they be preparing? Let's take a look at these new products.

New MateBook D14 and D15

Both devices have Full HD resolution screens (1920 x 1080px) and 178º viewing angles thanks to its IPS panel. We have been able to verify live that they move quite well, in fact the unit checked in the Huawei event that a unit had a touch panel that even allowed us to interact with the Huawei mobile device on duty as long as it has EMUI 10 installed as firmware. We have been pleasantly surprised by this new range of ultralight Huawei laptops that do not seem to have any rival in terms of price given their characteristics.

They are housed in an all-aluminum unibody chassis (the cheapest of its' kind), and mostly refer to its new Full View display, just 4,8mm thick on the MateBook D14 and 5,3mm thick. on the MateBook D15 version. However, the most striking thing and what most enters the eyes is its new panel that occupies the 87% of the front in the case of the 15-inch model and 84% in the 14-inch model. Note that the 15-inch model actually has 15,6, so it is closer to the 16 inches that other brands already mount.

These new models both have the processor AMD Ryzen 5 3500U, which is not particularly novel but sufficient to perform with the power usually required without increasing battery consumption. Both will be accompanied by 8GB of RAM expandable to 16GB at the consumer's choice, while the MateBook D14 will have a 512GB SSD from the start, and the MateBook D15 will have 256GB of storage in its standard version. But they are not the only novelties, we find in them an ignition system by fingerprint which will allow us to be at the desk in just 9 secondsSince we press it (being off) and without the need to enter more data.

That is, it stores our fingerprint during those seconds to unlock and log in even from off, quite surprising. It is worth mentioning that despite the "veto" imposed by Donald Trump, these laptops have Windows 10 as standard, as well as connectivity capabilities Huawei OneHop you would expect from a brand device. Only by posing our terminal compatible with this technology (mainly EMUI 10) will we be able to see the mobile screen on the laptop in real time and even interact with it easily. It is essential to mention its charging via USB-C through a compact size 65W adapter (half an hour for a whole day of use).

New Huawei FreeBuds 3

The FreeBuds 3 have been given a carmine red color to welcome Valentine's Day (next February 14). These FreeBuds 3 in red are now available on Amazon from € 179 and in the next few days they will also appear in other shops such as Worten, MediaMarkt and El Corte Inglés. It is an ideal gift and it also stands out a bit from the continuity that some firms are offering regarding this type of product, white and black colors. This red is much more fun and shines with its own light, so we will be able to differentiate ourselves from others.

These headphones are characterized by having a latency lower than 190ms thanks to its Kirin A1 processor which is already used for example in the bestseller Huawei Watch GT2. Regarding autonomy, they offer 4 hours of playback with a single charge, fast charging of 70% in just 30 minutes and 20 hours of playback taking into account the case. These are some of the best TWS headphones we've seen on the market and they include active noise cancellation. Stay tuned to our channel YouTube and our section of reviews because there you can see the analysis in depth.

Pablo Wang is clear: we will continue yes or yes

We had the company of Pablo Wang, the Director of Huawei Consumer Spain who has made it clear that his company will remain in this market yes or yes, making a veiled allusion to Donald Trump's interest in putting obstacles in the way of Huawei, a firm that is positioned as one of the strongest in sales in China. It has also left us a bit of a mystery, reminding us that Huawei will present a new device at MWC.
