Yesterday was a special day for all of us who closely follow the mobile phone market and who are also in love with the Nexus family terminals, which conquer our hearts with their pure Android and many other interesting specifications. Yesterday was the day that Google officially presented the new Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P, manufactured this time by LG and Huawei respectively.

Each of these two terminals are the renewal of other previous smartphones. The Nexus 5X is the renewal of the successful Nexus 5, and the Nexus 6P becomes the replacement for the Nexus 6, the device manufactured by Motorola and that did not have the expected success.

What are the different and the similarities?

We could say that the Nexus 5X and the Nexus are similar in that they are two terminals of the Nexus family that have both been manufactured by LG and in few other things. It is evident that the differences must be greater due to the difference in time that has passed between the launch of the original Nexus 5 and this new Nexus 5X.

The evolution of the hardware in recent years has been very important and we can see how the processor is much more powerful, the cameras, both the front and the rear have improved greatly. We have also gone from having Android 4.4. KitKat as the operating system to the new and renewed Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

However with All the news that the Nexus 5X incorporates we could say that it has not managed to leave the Nexus 5 in a bad place which is still a mobile device capable of withstanding the type before any other smartphone. Of course the old LG device holds up to the type of the new device, although the differences of course as we have already said are evident.

Design; properly progress

The mobile devices of the Nexus family are not terminals that stand out for their design, but on this occasion both the terminal manufactured by LG and the one manufactured by Huawei have taken a step forward in terms of design, although without being any transcendental step in any of the both cases.

The new Nexus 5X has improved somewhat compared to the Nexus 5 and for example we can find it from the first on the market in various colors. Of course, no one expects a design similar to that of the Galaxy S6 edge or any other high-end terminal, because Google terminals are still far from the best designs on the market.

LG seems to have wanted to follow a continuous line with this Nexus 5X and tla time thinking that what will change what worked with the Nexus 5. However, perhaps a major facelift would have been interesting in order to capture new users, although most of us who acquire a terminal from the Nexus family do not do so for its design but for other aspects and specifications.

Price and final valuation

The original price of the Nexus 5 and the Nexus 5X are very similar and the old model arrived on the market with a price of $349, while the new device can be purchased from $379. We could say that the years go by but Google continues to maintain its firm commitment to offering users not too high prices.

If you want to know my personal opinion I think this Nexus 5X is below what many of us expected And it is that without being a bad terminal, it could have incorporated, for example, a better RAM, a better design and some slightly better specifications.

For example, the RAM memory has not changed between both terminals and the design continues to have the same deficiencies as when the original Nexus 5 hit the market.

Google and LG have done a good job, but without a doubt this could have been much better, although perhaps that would have meant that the price of the new Nexus 5X would skyrocket and then we would be complaining about that high price.
