Nokia's new stage wants to be different from the one it had with Microsoft. The first step was to opt for incorporating the Android operating system, perhaps the most popular platform in the world - in Spain it dominates with more than 80% market share. On the other hand, there are already several terminals that Nokia together with HMD Global have launched on the market, being the current high-end the Nokia 8.
The company communicated months ago that all its terminals would obtain the latest version of Google's operating system. And the first step has already been taken, since in the last hours the users of the Nokia 8 have begun to receive the relevant update on their devices.
One of the features of the new Nokia is that it will not use custom layers on its smart phones; They use stock Android on all of them. This will make the hateful lagging are not so common and that when launching new updates, they do not delay in time. With the arrival of Android 8.0 Oreo to the Nokia 8, users will be able to enjoy new features like Picture-to-Picture, better notifications or better battery management.
Of course, so that everything works perfectly from the beginning, HMD Global launched a beta program in which up to 2.000 users participated what were they sending feedback to polish the final version of Android 8.0 Oreo for the Nokia 8.
Finally, as we have already told you, Nokia will not stop until all its terminals obtain the latest version of the platform. And the next step on the roadmap is to bring Android Oreo to two new terminals. As they have commented, these will be both Nokia 5 and Nokia 6, two very interesting mid-range equipment that you can find at prices as competitive as $154 (Nokia 5) or $250 (Nokia 6).
