During New Year's Eve 63.000 million WhatsApp messages were sent

WhatsApp

WhatsApp has become in many countries, the only tool to communicate. The messaging platform that has been in the hands of Facebook for a couple of years, little by little, has become the most used platform in the world with just over a billion monthly active users, according to the figures it offered the company in the middle of last year. The arrival of this type of application meant the end of the extra pay that telephone operators received during Christmas in which we all used to send an SMS to congratulate our friends and family on the new year.

For yet another year, the platform most used by users to communicate and congratulate their acquaintances on the New Year has been WhatsApp, which this year has once again beat its previous record. According to the figures that the company has just announced, during the last hours of last year and the first hours of 2017, users sent just over 63.000 million messages. But they not only sent text messages to congratulate the year, but the more than one billion users also used images and videos, proceeding to send 8.000 million images and 2.4 billion videos.

Last April, More than 60.000 million messages were sent through WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger together, so these records have fallen short of bitumen if we compare them with those just offered by the company. In particular, I still prefer the Telegram application due to the large number of options it offers us compared to WhatsApp, as well as being multiplatform, which allows us to hold our conversations through our PC, Mac, tablet, or smartphone without having to be stuck in everything moment to our mobile. What is your favorite messaging platform?
