The OnePlus 3 has USB-OTG support, but disabled

OnePlus 3

The controversy continues to hang over OnePlus and its latest model. It is a company that has won the favor and the guarantee from the users, however, they are reaping many discontent with the latest device launched. In the first place because it did not take advantage of even half of the RAM memory it has, which remained "asleep", secondly because after "waking up" this RAM, the battery consumption is astronomical. Meanwhile, we hear the news that really the OnePlus 3 does have USB OTG support through USB-C, although it does not allow it via software.

This means that the OnePlus 3 is fully compatible with the usual OTG features in Android and especially in devices that have a USB-C connection, but that OnePlus has seen fit to disable this function by default in its operating system. USB OTG support would allow us to handle a greater amount of data to that of the usual microSD card, and easy to remove with quite good performance specifications. We are surprised by this attitude of OnePlus hiding functions of its devices, as it did with the RAM at launch and until the first software update.

The good news is that it is possible to activate the OTG system on the OnePlus 3, all is not lost. For it to work we have to activate it specifically in the storage configuration section of the settings. Navigating through this extensive panel we will find the modality "Enable OTG ». Definitely the guys at OnePlus have not thought of making the user experience of their buyers as easy as possible, more than one will be quite angry with the way they are doing things with this latest model, however, thanks to Android, almost all problems are easy to solve.

3 minutes it took me. Two and a half minutes went to unpack the phone and put the tempered glass on it.

I don't think it was so hidden. You simply have to browse the menus to see what there is to discover things.
