As often happens, we have decided to accompany this last analysis with a video on our YouTube channel. In this video, among other things, you will be able to observe the complete unboxing of the Philips Series 3000i Purifier, as well as a detailed tutorial to be able to configure it and make it work correctly. Later we will talk about the general result and we will review its technical characteristics. You can take a look at the video and take the opportunity to subscribe to our YouTube channel, that way you will help us to continue growing and of course we will answer any questions in the comment box.

Materials and design

How could it be otherwise, Philips has left us an interesting feeling in terms of materials and the manufacture of such a product premium like this. We have a cylindrical device that is composed in its upper half of a sewn textile covering and the company logo. At the bottom we have gray or white plastic, depending on the chosen model, as well as the easy-access magnetic cover for the filter included with the purifier. At the level of weight and touch, the purifier leaves us good sensations.

  • Size: 645 x 290 x 290
  • Weight: 10,5 Kg
  • Colors: Black and white depending on the choice

At the top is where we will find the LED panel that we will talk about later, the RGB LED lighting ring that will inform us of the status of the air quality and the perforations through which the completely purified air will come out. The device reviewed is large, we cannot deny it, but that goes hand in hand with its colossal purification capabilities. For its part, we have a relatively minimalist design that will look good in almost any room, as you can see in the photographs that accompany this analysis. However, for obvious reasons, it is more suited to large living rooms or kitchens.

Technical characteristics

This 3000i purifier It is designed for rooms of up to 104 square meters, mainly open-plan rooms, but thanks to its 360º purified air expulsion system we will be able to go to somewhat more complex rooms at the level of arrangement of furniture and walls. The CADR particle rate, that is, the purification capacity of this device is up to 400 cubic meters per hour at the maximum power offered by the brand. These are the filtration capabilities:

  • PM2,5 - 99,97% particles
  • H1N1 virus - 99,9
  • Bacteria - 99,9
  • Touch control panel

We thus obtain a filtering capacity of ultrafine particles as low as 3 nanometers, that is said soon. To do this, it uses the two air purification and filtering technologies of the Philips brand, such as VitaShield and AeraSense, patented and scientifically proven results. At the sensor level, we will have a gas sensor and a PM2,5 particle sensor.

Fast and efficient purification with the new 3D helical outlet air circulation system cleans the air in a 20 m² room in less than 8 minutes.

In the same way, it will have a HealtyAirProtect air quality alert and blocking system which will sync with the DC motor and the mobile device app.

Maintenance and application

Regarding maintenance, we will have a filter with a recommended shelf life of 36 months. We have an alert system on both the LED screen and the mobile application that will inform us of the status of the air quality and the performance of the filter. This filter has been tested with NaCI aerosol by iUTA in accordance with DIN71460-1, it will also have household cleaning instructions to extend its useful life.

It is important to note that these filters can be purchased separately at usual outlets such as Amazon for only 79 euros, a plus considering the cost of other similar filters in competitive products.

For its part, the mobile application is available for Android and of course for iPhone (iOS). In it we will be able to easily handle the device as well as all of the following:

  • Receive air quality notifications
  • Access the air quality report in real time
  • Turn the device on and off
  • Switch between the three modes: Turbo, Automatic and Night
  • Turn the touch panel light on and off
  • Add it to Siri to integrate with the connected home

Undoubtedly the application is a more than interesting addition and that helps us to manage the device with all the information that can be expected. It is completely free and does not require any type of subscription. Its handling and design are well integrated, but we regret that you have not chosen to integrate it with Alexa or Apple's HomeKit. as if it happens in other Philips devices in the style of the Hue.

Editor's opinion

We find an air purifier of the best on the market in this Philips 3000i, a fully integrated device with everything you can expect and capabilities that few brands are able to offer. Obviously all this has a price, around 499 euros depending on the selected point of sale will be to blame. It is clearly not an option to enter the market, but it is the best alternative if what we are looking for is effectiveness, efficiency and performance. If you want to purify the air in rooms larger than 100 m2, this should be your first option. You can buy it in your usual points of sale such as El Corte Inglés, MediaMarkt or the official Philips website.
